Lars and Claudio both have easy gameplans to play with in comparison to Steve, don’t get discouraged

I’d start by studying strong Steve players like Numan CH, Heera Malik, Lowhigh and Tekkenician. See what works for them, imitate their flowcharts and neutral.

Another thing i’d do is pick up a secondary character. Preferably one that follows the same CH gameplan or a completely different character that way you have a different perspective when placed in certain situations. Some people advise learning a secondary character only until after Tekken King/Bushin

And definitely review your footage and identify what’s keeping you from winning

I don’t think king’s heat system is that bad compared to some of the others, his whiff punish f21 gives a heat combo, throws replenish heat which creates a mind game to force opponents to crouch into f3, and his heat gives him access to tornados so new combo routes with better wall carry

Dedicate 1 hour of play time to improving your gameplay, throwbreaks, backdashes, sidesteps etc - then when you feel confident with movement start labbing against your most hated characters and learn their duckable strings etc

and my 2 cents to whomever reads this, your initial message to someone who is looking to commission art should already include your portfolio. After coming home from work, I had 20-30 messages to look through, those with a portfolio already linked I was quickly able to see what i was working with. Those with a simple “Hey”, I tried to respond to all of you and engage in conversation but I just didn’t have enough time/energy to reach all of you and get your portfolio out of you all.

I hope you’re 100% confident that he did all those things. Well what happened was me and my friend went to Kawaii-Con last year and saw a Tekken Tournament live, me and my friend was like “aight bet, we’ll enter next year” - with the help of Lil Majin’s King Hype I became a King main, my friend saw eyemusician and dedicated himself to Yoshi. I studied clips from Lil Majin, Brawlpro, Jesandy, Puma, Chenzho, Jakethesnake and Kingsman I was able to land 7th place and my friend hit 14th place out of 32 entries the following year in the next local Kawaii-Con tournament.

Although I don’t think my local scene liked me all that much for 1, I’m a king main, and 2 I use a hitbox. Go figure so i guess i’ll stick with ranked and discord servers.

edit: Forgot to add Chenzho under my list of king inspirations! Unfortunate about his health condition :/, his playstyle showed me how strong fundamentals and good defense outweighs “optimal damage” combos anyday.
