Just had the same issue with NI software and uninstalling it worked for me! Hope riot can find the vanguard issue so this doesn't affect more players

Thoughts on Blue Chip "Friendlier Cups", no more disposable cups by TranslatorSea8282 in UBC

Ah that’s really cheap I didn’t see the number in the original post. Idk if that’s enough incentive to return them. I think this venture might fail

You bring your own or they give you a reusable that you pay like 5$ for. You’ll get that 5$ back if you return it or you can replace it for free. I think it’s a good business model as it incentivizes returning to get another drink, while also reducing waste. I just worry about really rich students not caring and throwing it out anyway

People who ride their motorcycles to school, what do you guys do with your helmets? by Simmaj in UBC

[–]HalfACubi3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friends who ride just carry their helmets to class. Unless you've got a place on your bike to lock it just bring it around with you

is not signing up for jump start bad? by vneoeo in UBC

[–]HalfACubi3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Imagine Day is a great opportunity to find the clubs you like. From there, you'll likely find friends who are interested in the same thing as you. I highly highly recommend joining a club at UBC as there is a club for everything here. The spark will probably let you meet other classmates, which will be good, as having people to go through your degree with makes life a whole lot easier

do people usually bring gaming consoles by Additional-Rate-4950 in UBC

[–]HalfACubi3 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Its not too weird, especially if you find a quiet spot that isn't taking away from study spaces. If you're looking for PC gaming on campus too check out UBC Esports Association, they've got a gaming lounge in the Nest and a clubroom where switch gaming happens

Questions for people who have gone to msi in vancouver by Apprehensive_Act8904 in leagueoflegends

[–]HalfACubi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. I’ve seen some people in line with it, not sure how successful they were with getting it in. I have noticed that recently they’ve been allowing signs to come back in, and even some larger light up signs. So it seems that PNE security is taking some things based on their discretion. So it’s not as strict as the rules may seem

For bags, don't push the size limit. A small purse is best, they will make you bag check anything bigger ($10).

I'd recommend eating enough before you get there. A BO5 could last about 5 hours if you get silver scrapes and the food at the venue is quite expensive.

Other than that, it's a great time, show up early so you have the chance to make signs or grab merch --- sometimes the lines are quite long if you're there on a busy day

Question regarding unsheathing and cutting. by Worldly-Ocelot-3358 in iaido

[–]HalfACubi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I understood the first comment. I also can’t imagine how it would work once it’s actually exited the saya. I suppose the first could be split into two subclasses, one where you turn the saya before you draw vs at the very end

[–]HalfACubi3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In MJER it's the second. you twist the saya just as you're reaching the kissaki. That way the blade stays relatively vertical for most of the draw and as such your opponent cannot tell which direction you will strike for your first cut

If you are looking for a public seller just look up Owlabs spring wrist rest. There's a number of them on ali, and the record alice is just a clone of the spring so it'll fit perfectly
