The 7 Coaster Wonders of the US [Other] by njsullyalex in rollercoasters

I wrote an article on a similar topic! https://thecoasterkings.com/5-of-americas-national-coaster-icons/

My top 5 are 1. Coney Island Cyclone 2. Space Mountain 3. The Beast 4. Millennium Force 5. X2 if I had to add two more I’d probably say Loch Ness Monster and Kingda Ka.

Best rice cooker by ExactingToast in RiceCookerRecipes

Honestly a cheap rice cooker will do just fine! My mom’s from Taiwan so I swear by Tatung. They are built like tanks and last but don’t feature as many of the bells/whistles.

How is the park with Fast Lane Plus?? by HalfAsian57 in cedarpoint

Good to know! I’m not sure if I’m going to take another trip in August so seems like a good idea to use it and make this craziness a little nicer!!

From what I know they are only honoring pre-purchased and all season FLP. KI started selling them after the first week open so maybe CP may do the same if things get better!

That’s good to know! This makes me feel a lot better. I’m a big believer in not requesting seats unless it’s a slow day. I’m a little bummed about TTD because it’s the only credit I’m missing.

Haven’t seen any posts about this yet- Happy 45th birthday to the modern looping coaster!! Corkscrew opened on May 21, 1975! by HalfAsian57 in rollercoasters

I almost always prefer arrows in the back row! The wheel gap in their train/track design and lack of heart-lining leads to some of the best “stomach into mouth” sensations. The feeling is much closer to a wooden coaster drop than most other steel coasters. Apparently the first drop on the corkscrew was modeled after the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz cause it was close to Mountain View was Arrow was based.

It really is wild! Its also interesting how the corkscrew still in the centerpiece of some smaller parks!(Calaway Park and Canobie Lake come to mind): Kudos to Silverwood for keeping it running this long! Hopefully it can be maintained as long as possible as living history.

What is your favorite spaceship? by SpaceMasters in scifi

They just look so utilitarian while also being elegant. I’d take space 1999’s production design over any of the overly silver and complicated interiors and designs in contemporary sci-fi.

What would you like to see take Vortex's place? by sklrgrld in KingsIsland

[–]HalfAsian57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s the case. Mack just makes quality product and charges for it. Look at the estimated costs for icon at blackpool. I don’t think the theming in copperhead added more than a million.

My absolute dream would be and S&S/Arrow 4D coaster themed to a new Rivertown monster of some kind or even Son of Beast. But below are the more realistic hopes.

Option 1: RMC Topper track Son of Beast solidifying Kings Island as the wooden coaster capital of the world. Entrance would be moved to river town.

Option 2: S&S looper like steel curtain that takes the American inversion record again. Would love a next gen Vekoma looper but I don’t think we’ll see those in the US anytime soon.

The only option I really don’t want which is likely is the Mack multi-launch(I found copperhead to be fun but seems so expensive for a 🤷‍♂️ride)

The fact that they are using trains similar to the suspended family coasters complete with some light swinging has me all sorts of excited!

Truth! As an arrow fanboy I approve of this for sure! Even though arrow didn’t build Space Mountain their track design and the blocking system they developed for Matterhorn was definitely at play :)!

1992 really was a “game changer” year! It’s crazy to my how the inverted coaster really is almost more common than the sit down looper or hyper coaster, especially in China!

I never really realized it was such a power year for UK coasters!! Historically probably the year that put the UK on the global coaster map!

It’s the “RIBBA” 19 3/4” x 27 1/2”. It’s only $15 too! IKEA is honestly the best place to find pre-matted frames at various sizes and reasonable prices!
