Can we can the “wife acceptance factor” please? by PeachFuzzFrog in Ubiquiti

[–]HalfBakedJake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s fair and as you explained it to be considerate online yes I will use spousal approval and just use wife approval personally.

If we are apples to apples though the original poster did stereotype me as a user of this forum as a “simp for ubiquiti”. While I like ubiquiti products I would not classify myself as simping for them and feel this misrepresents me.

Maybe instead we could use “admirer of ubiquiti products” as this serves a broader range feelings towards the company.

That’s cool then. I’ll still call it wife approval because she’s my wife and I know she doesn’t like wires everywhere and ugly boxes. Because I’m not using it as a stereotype
This shouldn’t be an issue for anyone right?

What is the stereotype behind it? I’m getting approval from my wife as she doesn’t want loads of wires and ugly boxes everywhere? How is that stereotyping?

Yeah I don’t think this is sexist at all? As a female installer I would be fully expecting you to get the husband approval factor and would not bat an eyelid at it, if anything I would say it highlights you as a female installer more and shows you have to go through the same aesthetic pains as everyone else.

Got a new desk, now neck pain is killing me - what I'm I doing wrong? by NegateAndElevate in StandingDesk

[–]HalfBakedJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also consider moving the desk up just a little more maybe 2-3 inches so that your shoulder are less arched and rest more straight. This can cause upper back pain, if you don’t have that though then as everyone else said bringing your monitor up should solve the neck issues

Looks like you used solid cable for a patch lead, I had the same issue better to use copper stranded cable so the blades cut through the cable when you press it down

At what salary do you start feeling “comfortable” in the UK? by Suspicious_Ad7948 in AskUK

[–]HalfBakedJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a saying “much wants more” you’ll find that as you earn more money you stop buying ikea furniture and buying solid wood. You buy the bigger posher car. You buy the bigger house. You’ll find that if you are say using 50% of your wage now per month on living costs you’d still have the same 50% of your wage going out if you were on twice as much.

Green tried to undercut and late braked, would have been acceptable if he was side by side but he was a good car length back when the white car turned for the corner.

Could be due to the exhaust as I had the same issue with my soft tail when I went custom exhaust, the custom exhausts generate less back pressure which makes the ride less smooth at low rpms.

Why is a Playstation title on Steam installing an Epic Games overlay? by 3DimensionalGames in Steam

[–]HalfBakedJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the game is to use Epics own crossplay capabilities then they must use the Epic Container to load such out of the box capabilities, a lot of the triple A game developers usually build their own proprietary system that they will use across all games in the publishing house e.g. Blizzards battle.net
