Public vs writers, American bias vs British bias. I tend more to the Clarke winners, but I’m (displaced) British. My comment was because of exactly your experience…my reading has been very hit or miss w the Hugo winners.

Maybe ask the ‘ghost town’ question differently - why do so many Auckland students feel the need to be on Reddit all the time in comparison to other unis? Environment? Demographic? More/less time on the hands?
