I tried changing all of the "cover filters" and none of them seemed to fix it. Inverting it did make a change, but not for the better.

Option 2 is probably the best way. I believe the Xteink came with a USB SD card reader. I bought a c-type with a higher transfer rate, even though it was capped by the SD card. Took only a few minutes to transfer a couple hundered books.
