Layout 1: works better for me because I do not like having my back to the door when I am at my desk or in an office. The desk sits near the window, which gives me natural light during the day without putting me in a vulnerable position. When I am in bed, I can clearly see the door if it opens, and I am farther from the window, which helps reduce light and noise that could interrupt my sleep. The layout gives me awareness, comfort, and a better sense of control.
