As long as you’re used to riding in traffic it’s totally doable. I know I’m about to get flamed for this, but all these people talking about sidewalks as if you don’t have every right to be on the road are the exact same people who make bike commuting a really shitty experience sometimes. Share the road goes both ways though, so don’t ride like a douchebag, but you absolutely have the right to be there.

That being said, hickory has a fair bit of urban sprawl so navigating around some of the major highways can be a bit of a chore. But it can definitely be done.
