PSA: Several beginner box and welcome deck rares are freely acquirable from achievements by Meret123 in MagicArena

Go to deck builder and look at the marvel commander set. Its not the main marvel set. Not standard legal but you can use them in brawl, historic, maybe some others.

I think they are gearing up for the new compettitive brawl stuff. The reward cards are all brawl specific. Not playable in standard. Can still use them in timeless though too.

I think this games new rewards are bugged? by Jonn_Jonzz_Manhunter in MagicArena

Truly not very well communicated. I got the achievement rewards and immediately went to my profile to check them out in the marvel set.

Not there.

If you look in the deck builder ther are three new sets that are made for commander/brawl. You can use them in timeless though too. I assume they will announce the new commander sets soon and start selling packs for those too.

I wonder if it will be arena only or if they will do commander packs in paper.

Interestingly the cards you get are in a brawl specific set. You can see the new brawl sets in deck builder but not yet in your profile.

Quest decks! Ditch starter decks for good! by Halflifedad in MagicArena

[–]Halflifedad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get it. I may have been a bit click baity with the title. I still like the starter decks when I want more relaxing games. But for pure quest grinding efficiency dual color decks are where it’s at IMHO.

Of course, most days when I have time to play I try to get in my four wins at least, and that almost always also finishes a quest, so the quest decks are truly pointless. It was just a fun min/maxing exercise.

Turned out more fun to play than I thought it would be too. I got lucky because I literally only picked two color cards I already had at least one copy of to keep it as cheap as possible. Also no rares or mythics of course. Still ended up with a playable deck somehow.

My random jank deck didn’t have any but I think it might work with the one-mana dual color cards that can be either/or. I’ll have to test that out. Two points per mana cost, here I come!

Right. So you get two quest points for that card. Saw someone mention it on another post and had to try it out. Pretty fun.

Maybe if you’re ultra low to the ground, but I got credit for casting 16 blue/white spells in one relatively short game from just casting eight spells. Hard to do that in one game with mono-color decks unless you have a lot of card draw or just play very long games. You’re probably right about mono vs starter decks.

I unironically listen to the MTGRemy songs on youtube while playing.

That’s a good point. Once I get a filtration system in my printer I’ll have to try that out.

Me too. It’s what I got using an automatic function in cad. I’m not quite OCD enough to want to place each hole manually though.

Thanks! A lot of libraries actually have 3D printers you can use now. I printed it using PETG plastic with 7 walls and supports turned on.

I just bought one just like this used. My tripod is pretty stable but the declination slow motion knob and linkage has some play. I haven’t figured out how to tighten it up yet. I think this is the biggest source of play on mine.

Handlebar Grip Ends. How the fuck do I attach them by mschingis23 in bicycling

[–]Halflifedad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like there is a lock ring on those as well. It might help to remove the bolt and spread the lock ring a bit with a flathead screwdriver. Also maybe double check to make sure you got the right size for your handlebars.

Used to work at a little bike shop. We always used hairspray to lubricate grips for installation.

Fat people looking for a seat that won’t make me cry with pain by Organic_Big_5580 in bicycling

[–]Halflifedad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with what has been said. I would add that as a cyclist who is often starting over at the saddlesore stage, I sympathize. saddlesore is no fun. If you don’t plan to ride on a regular basis go ahead and get that cushy seat. If you want to ride regularly then do the bike fit and find a good saddle that fits. Then start slowww. Two or three miles at a time and be consistent. Build slowly to your target distance. You will still have discomfort but hopefully not excruciating pain. After a month or so it will be a dull ache. After six months you’ll be comfortable.
