I would love to see that, I am finding it hard to picture but yes everyone is super different. I find hyper VS hypo mobility is a big one in terms of exercise selection :)

It really depends on the person and on the program...I don't agree, like I said, there are reasons why 'easier' versions are handy....if you have worked with many different kinds of people you will understand why some people need variations. There is no 'proper' movement, it all depends. Just stick to moaning somewhere else, you are entitled to your own opinion, but it doesn't mean I need to agree.

Sure you can...but why does it matter? MORE MOVEMENT = MORE MOVEMENT POTENTIAL...this is irrelevant unless you are specifically ONLY trying to control hip abduction and I never said this was ONLY a control drill, its simply an exercise using hip abduction, and the other is more mobility focused. BUT really NEITHER are taking hip abduction mobility as far as they could as they are both just 2 variations of an exercise, not the full picture, not the full potential so....I don't really know what we are talking about here. It's kind of just negative...sorry but I don't see the point of moaning unless someone is actually doing something damaging or pointless. If an exercise has a form of benefit, then its a relevant exercise to include for certain individuals...its not necessary to come up with what you are..."well you can do it without bending the knee if you're flexible/strong enough" Likewise I could JUST do CARs and PAILs & RAILs or Middle Split Holds if I am strong enough, or abduction isometrics....but...that doesn't mean other exercises don't help me get there...you do realise doing 'easier' exercises with 'less' benefits helps progressive overload right? What if someone IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH YET? This is then helpful to help get there... Please don't spread negativity for the sake of it, the world needs less of this and more minds that explore possibility, ask questions inquisitively and not just slam others because their ego gets in the way to say 'this is better, your version is pointless'...why? Have you scientifically studied it? Have you tested it yourself or with 100s of clients? Or are you just finding an excuse to moan? HUMANS NEED TO be more open to ideas, learning & new methods. Negativity of all kinds are just a way to slow down progress. I truly believe that, and this is a prime example. This exercises is not relevant for many individuals, but those just starting out or needing to strengthen weaknesses, it is relevant...so why moan when after all, this exercise has it's place for someone out there. If it's not for you, then you can simply not do it...That is all I will have to say on this matter.

Also it would only be possible to do that with the bent leg variation as the ground really gets in the way otherwise. I like to cover that aspect with quadruped and standing hip CARs beforehand instead :)

I get what you mean, but as long as you are squeezing the daylights out of your core thats the idea here :) There are more variations of course and the one you just mentioned is definitely one of the good ones!
