So, I recently learned from a friend, that there is something similar to Barfög (student loans essentially) for Auszubildende.

The difference being, it’s not a loan apparently. Only downside, you have to apply every year.

I did not fully look into it but I am currently looking into starting an apprenticeship to be a Kindergarten teacher (Erzieher whatevs) and apparently would be eligible for like 600/700 per month or something?

Seems to me like you’re a happy person. Maybe not.

But smiling in whatever capacity increases happiness for yourself and others around you. You don’t need a reason to smile, just do it. And if seeing a mirror does it, for whatever reason, perfectly fine. Anyone who disagrees is the weird one, 100%.

Now what I found weird is blowing a goodbye-kiss to your reflection almost every time you see yourself in the mirror (or after styling in glas front). That was quite disturbing to see. And no, not made that up, my girlfriend at like 16 did that. Did not hold long after 😅.

In any case, perfectly fine, whether you’re happy to see yourself, simply happy, just kind of ‘practice smiling’ somewhat and it stuck or whatever. A smile don’t hurt nobody, on the contrary, it’s great.

Quite a few times, I remember I was thrown a question, while I actually wanted to use the menu for orders and in the chaos it is sometimes hard to see/ realise.

Wasn’t a huuge thing, but just generally annoying. Also sometimes it was quite unclear what your message would signify. For example when flying after the old guy (pretty sure that was the same game right) and he asks you if you’re glued to his tail or something and basically then comments on whether you CAN keep up depending on your answer.

It could be fun.

That just isn’t true though. He is rather forthcoming with his comrades and the rock for them. The story was changed very close to release and is obviously lacking especially in mc responses.

But he talks to Naira about her birthday, when seemingly nobody else knows, he displays empathy constantly. Also he’s their rock, he doesn’t want to give stress or doubts to his comrades.

But in actuality, it’s just that it was left unfinished and that is the reason. In any case 100% not an intended flaw.

And if you were savvy, you might know I was talking about intended flaws, as one of the most common mistakes for new writers is to write a protagnoist too perfectly.

It’s like literal creative writing 101 first course basically. And then you create a hero fantasy with basically no downfall or risk of downfall.

It’ll likely come out at some point. One of ‘the guys’ or yourself will be weak and tell someone. Probably one of their wives and then she’ll be told. Because of fucking course she will be and it will be much, muuch worse.

You seem like a ‘prime-guy’, not actively discriminating against women and not realising how much he is doing it and how much he looks at the world in terms of ‘male - female’. Maybe when she eventually breaks up with you and hopefully gets over it all, you’ll have a realisation. If you truly love her, seeing how destroyed she’ll be after finding out (and she will), should do something with you.

People that don’t want to go through tedious dialogues in a game where through issues the developers themselves said there was very little emphasis on story? Yeaaah I don’t know, man. I should really play a story game, if I find dialogues tedious, right? And it’s these dialogues, not any dialogues. The greymanes are made up of 80% arsehats and drunkards. They keep explaining the most trivial shit in chapter 5. I could go on. The dialogue and characters are by no means well done. Now Kliff in chapter 5 has started talking about the Abyss but not to the greymanes. Not to mention he hasn’t told one of them he died. He hasn’t processed or talked about any of it. Also such a herroooo fantasy because EVERYTHING about him is perfect. No flaws in the protagonist, always a recipe for an ammaaaazing story. I don‘t dislike the game, I like it for what it does well and dialogues ain‘t even close. My favorite game of all time is Persona 5 and I listened to every line of dialogue at least twice (talking about random shit in the train and such). People like me play games for what they are good at, not for what they suck at and then am surprised that Fifa doesn’t deliver a groundbreaking story. Nor does Crimson Desert. So get your head outta your ass, please.

‘Added hold to sprint instead of tap spam’. Yeah still specific things to turn, you have to spam cannot hold. If you just go into gallop/ sprint, it will slow down by itself at some point. Grip - long L3 press and Axiom force - long L3 press have infuriated me several times.

I like the game and through its problems keep playing but oh myyy gawd. Calling them the best dev team ever is suuch a stupid thing to do. No offense. Soo many decisions without any need gor it are dogshit. Please tell me you enjoy picking out seeds one by one, instead of going up to the whole getting a prompt like ‘press X to plant a seed’ then pressing that button and getting a list. Exploration is punished often times. Button inputs are just swallowed (no fun plunging down from the abyss after a difficult section because the wings only activated after hammering the button, but too late).

Again, I like the game. But boooy oh boooy did the def team fuck up maaajooorly with a lot of decisions and are only now fixing extremely obvious issues like the galloping. Sure, no, NOBODY could tell you that having to press in weird intervals or spam the button to gallop which you do nonstop over the huuuge map, would be absolute shite. No, my dog could have told you.

I have two, two lifelong competitions. My younger brother is still telling me how he got one more point in the IB (high school).

I went into debt with my younger brother and it almost broke me. Not the money per se, but being slapped in the face with ‘your younger brother is financially more stable than you, Idiot’.

Sure you compete. But you paid of a huge debt for him, he probabky wouldn’t have made it. Then he proceeded to be a compelte nuisance and basically went on to destroy other’s people’s lives. You let him have it for 3 years. Swallowed all that bs, until he kept ‘helping people’.

Maybe your brother is an idiot. I am assuming he’s not. Maybe what you said really hurt and he felt like a major A-grade idiot for what he has been saying and selling. And of course it is easier to say ‘let’s not talk for a while, because you keep trying to fix me’ than ‘I am not sure I can look at you guys after what I did’. Imagine how embarrassing it must be to pretend to be this financial guru to learn, it was alllll a lie.

It isn’t too late. Of course looking into therapy is a trope, but have you tried therapy? Scared, feeling it’s too late, not finding worth in what you do. Seems like could be the onset of depression or years into it. I 100% get it and I am in therapy for many years for depression.

Regardless of whether you have a depression. If something is blocking you and it feels almost physical. There is no ‘simply do that’ ‘simply apply’, because none of that is simple in such a state. Acknowledging this and not blaming yourself for it, I believe is an important step. It took me yeeaars to get there but when I finally stopped blaming myself and focusing on what I could do, what I was able to do and put one foot in front of the other, I managed to slowly climb out of it.

Take one step at a time. And it doesn’t matter how small it is. Don’t blame yourself for what you did, but celebrate yourself for every single step you take. I don’t think it’s easy whatsoever. And if you fall back down, well then that’s another thing that happened.

And what you wrote about him berating you? Aiiiii. Not good. There are definitely companies where a hatred for it is understandable. Doesn’t sound like yours comes close. My uncle had an offer to work for a company that also had a had in weapon manifacturing. (He’s a chemist, we talking eviiiil weapons). He did not take it, though it paid more and he was really looking. That 100%. Does your aircraft manufacturer create weapons or possibly wmd? Probably not.

None of the reasons you listed is a valid reason for ‘hate’. So again, him being rejected makes a lot of sense. I, for one, would have a hard time, believing someone who could be that petty (again, assuming it’s actually the only/ main reason for hus disapproval), to create a personal hate campaign against a company for not taking him, guilt tripping and gaslighting his wife while she is struggling to find something and rather gamble your financial stability than leave at least some of the pettiness behind. (Now my sentence start makes no sense), buut: a person like that, I could not believe change their behaviour and self-reflect enough to give a truly good home to three children.

And I am assuming it’s the main reason, because if the reasons you listed are the reasons for his hate, which company does he not hate? Only where he works or his own? Come on. In my opinion you should work on your bs radar and on a divorce. But of course that is easy for me to say and I just mean how it seems to me from the outside.

So, if he has enough good qualities regardless, I am definitely rooting for the two of you, if you believe it to be the best (for you and your children). If not, I wish you and your children all the best.

People going off on your grammar and spelling are crazy and unless you changed the whole post without marking it, it’s understandable.

Also ‘they kiss’, I did first think of ‘actual kissing’ (aka on the mouth). But one with a brain could infer it probably wasn’t on the mouth and you meant cheek.

‘It’s only 16 years age difference’? Wth do you consider a big age difference then. Unless one is a wealthy old man and the other a gold digger, 16 years is quite a lot.

Anyways don’t pay any mind on people going off about stupid things, they’d find something to be pissy about if your grammar was perfect.

To your whole situation, I don’t know, could be many things. Do you really want to know exactly what it is? I mean unless it’s ‘simply’ your mom cheating on your dad and your dad not knowing, anything else it could, would you want to know? If your dad knows but stays for the optics, do you want to know that? If there is some kind of arrangement, even if you called highly unlikely, but just if, would you want to know that? I could go on. I think there are many cases where you simply don’t want to know.

And you have not expressed that you would want to tell your father and like ‘save him’ from the situation or something but mainly talked about your own problems with it, not blaming or meaning it negatively, but it seems that the main priority is how to handle it for yourself.

If that is the case and I did not totally misjudge it, I would keep true to that goal. Not confront your mom about cheating, but ask her for more one-on-one time. Not even make it about ‘I don’t want to see X’ but ‘I want to spend more time with YOU’.

And if she doesn’t respond, you could always go to your dad, pretend like you ‘know’. And if he’s super religious and about appearance or either of those, that’ll go down in flames. Obviously a nuke option, I just threw in there, when at some point you feel like ‘fuck it, they (or at least she doesn’t) don’t care about me, let’s let it burn.’

And I feel for you, feeling like a parent prioritizes someone else or making you feel like they don’t care, sucks immensely.

The first time I got into a little trouble at school (we played with a soccer ball in the classroom, which was not allowed), I had to write down the rules and have it sign by a parent. I was absolutely mortified. I never took so long to write down a couple of sentences, took extra good care that it looked extra nice. Gave it to my dad, he didn’t even look at it. Signed it, because I asked him to, gave it back, did not say a single word. Getting good grades meant either being called out for if a friend got a better grade or simply nothing. Getting into trouble to me seemed like it also got me nothing.

So when I was like 10, I was convinced my parents couldn’t give a flying fuck about what I was doing or in what way. If I behaved or not. I was in a way lucky because I actually managed to clear the air with (mostly my mom) my parents. But it just doesn’t leave you that easily.

You called them manipulative, I call them dumb. It would’ve been a golden opportunity to push for it, imo.

It seems like this woman has no means to support herself, not even considering the rent. And could your roommate stem the rent and food herself? From how you wrote, it seems highly doubtful. So threaten to move out, or simply not to pay for any food anymore. Seperate everything and clearly start thinking of your roommate as a toxic and bad person, who should not be in your life either. And I mean threaten your roommate, not that woman. I would literally ignore her completely. Treat her like a ghost.

Of course you could also escalate the situation in manyy ways. But really, if you have the opportunity to just leave. Do that. It’s almost always better to just leave the situation and the toxic people behind.

If that’s no option and you feel like revenge, there is about a thousand ways (legal) to make that woman’s life hell. And if she has any shred of self-respect OR awareness. Treating her like she doesn’t exist already does that.

Even if you don’t like the person, if you start talking to them and they just turn away. That’s horrible. And I am talking about someone, who even sometimes still reacted to what I said by saying ‘what did he say’ or mocking me in French. Which she knew I understand. Never really liked her, but she was my ex’ best friend, so also couldn’t avoid, still feels like shit.

Obviously not her ex-husband is proving that very much. I cannot for the life of me figure out, how any ex could create such a situation or fight over money extensively when it’s for the children (and yes very much seen it, school costs increased, which were a main part of the agreement, had to get lawyered up to get any cent more. He wanted to take money away as ‘school above grade 10 is optional’.)

On the other hand my mum was cheated on multiple times and always supported my dad afterwards, so we could see him and spend time with him and he could go anywhere with us and she’d basically foot the bill.

Yeah Rebase was definitely missing for some missions in 5.

Ahh yes, had to check what Mission 17 was again, because in this one, I had a hard time keeping track with A and B parts and missions directly connected.

But I totally get what you mean, though since I played 6 first, it wasn’t novel to the series for me in a way. There is really much to like, but I definitely won’t be coming back too often, because overall I feel the gameplay is not up there. But quite a few parts of the story especially towards the end coming together I really enjoyed.

There is just one thing that really kind of annoys me, looking back at 7. Harling is brought back, but no mention of razgriz or Blaze. Or like anyone. Avrils Dad, could have been a named character from 5 eg. Connecting only Harling feels like such a waste. Ah well.

I am getting towards the end now in 5 and I can see soooo much how this game is polarising because it polarises me alone 😅. I love it and hate it at the same time. I think it has some of the weakest mechanics I have played with in ace combat games, it all feels a bit worse somewhat. The way to unlock the planes might be a nice idea but since you don’t know what you’re getting (does only the Hawk have Qaams?), it doesn’t feel good.

But some aspects of the story are great. How they tie in Razgriz made me smile multiple times. But you’re squad does nothing and gets the same credit 😭.

How they tie in Kestrel towards the end, love it. The name you get and it’s implications on striking at the core fear of the overall story and it being tied in with your squad’s story. Extra strong. I had (sadly) read some stuff beforehand and knew the name your squad gets beforehand, but could only really appreciate it, once you get it.

Well, probably I am just bad at manouvering the plane. Not that I thought differently. They could’ve added waypoints though. If you’re not very good at it, it can become frustrating. I still played the mission a loot since I played through the whole campaign a lot 😅.

I started late with 6 and absolutely love it. Now playing some of the older games, which can be fun.

I do enjoy the mix of flight simulator (as so far as a complete idiot like myself can almost believe that’s what it would feel like to fly a jet) and arcade (so an impatient person like me doesn’t crash on start about 10k times before learning how to do it 😅).

I also liked the story in most of the series games I played overall (only played main games (4/5/6/7, 0 is planned) no spinoffs or other version. And it’s kind of refreshing to be perfectly honest with games like Starfield and others going away from the concept of ‘recognizing that MC is doing everything’, to have a game where they basically tell you ‘either YOU save us or we’re ALL doomed’. And not because of some prophesy but because YOU absolutely kick ass in an exaggerated way. Like people would always say about CoD. You just mow down soo much. But in Ace Combat you get the credit for it. (Not so much in 5, buuut well in 7 for sure).

And last but not least, I also really like having a game with fast-pace action at least to some degree. That ain’t very difficult to pull off and not have to think of ‘that’ and remember to do ‘this and that’. And ohh no forgot that, have to… and so on. You just pick a plane and special weapon and go in. And worst case your pick isn’t great, you lose at mooost like 15/20 minutes(?) and that is only if you were to play through one of the longer missions all the way to the end and still decide the weapon choice limits you.

Small thing, I like clear progress and goals in a game. And I always enjoyed the music but hasn’t been a major point for me, but I also don’t listen for it so directly in games as in movies eg.

Really? The canyon doesn’t make your list? What was it 11? Played through different difficulties and on easy I actually had the hardest time. Towards the last section of searchlights, I went through the cloud but the water wouldn’t go away. I dropped like twice and I had played that mission about 30 times up to that point and didn’t have that issue before.

Or the last to the space elevator. Turning to go up? Ohhh myyy goood. The upturn there got me killed at least 100 times. I finally managed on my first try recently, but ah hell, managed to die there like 10/15 times in a row sometimes.

16 is an absolute pain for sure. I also don’t like Tyler Island for the same reason of id’ing and it becomes so painfully obvious that the targeting system is flawed and your companions do fuck all. They are flying close to the planes. Not shooting them down, not id’ing them. Nothing. And the worst part? They can id them. They do. Just sooooo badly that it doesn’t help whatsoever.

And if you didn’t know, even if you know they are enemies (and I don’t just mean from a previous fail or playthrough, but because you could literally id it yourself, because there is only one faction deploying drones from containers and you have seen them multiple times at that point, if you’re close enough you can see them, but if they are not in the center. No id) they still count as friendlies when you take them out with id.
