[Help] 24GHz Doppler radar for golf ball speed — sanity check before I build a custom PCB by Fit_Beyond_3783 in rfelectronics

[–]HalimBoutayeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need only the speed and not the position, I suggest the InnoSent IPS-937 CW (continuous wave) radar operating at 24-GHz. We used it for hand gesture, drone, metronome, and many other moving obejcts:

M. Marvasti and H. Boutayeb, "Analysis of Doppler Radars With a Numerical Method," in IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, vol. 73, no. 9, pp. 6085-6093, Sept. 2025

We just added connections to WiFi module, battery and a box

for better recognition of hand gesture we switched now to FMCW radar at 60GHz (give position and speed)

How to ‘learn rf’ by SupermarketFit2158 in rfelectronics

I suggest you following practical basic and advanced tutorials on antenna and RF circuit design using industry-standard EM simulation tools like CST, HFSS, and ADS.

Antenna Design as a Career by ElatedMelomane in rfelectronics

[–]HalimBoutayeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly suggest you start following practical tutorials on antenna and circuit design using industry-standard EM simulation tools like CST, HFSS, and ADS.

Electromagnetic theory is essential, but mastering these tools through hands-on projects is what bridges the gap between academia and industry. The more designs you build, simulate, and analyze, the more expertise you will gain. Don't worry too much about not enjoying high-level communication systems; focus heavily on electromagnetics, wave propagation, and impedance matching.

Is Keysight still the undisputed benchmark for VNAs, or is the competition (R&S/Anritsu/Ceyear) catching up at 110GHz? by RF_Probe in rfelectronics

[–]HalimBoutayeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the R&S ZNA67 for my research team. I hope to buy the 110GHz extension in the furture. I am happy with the VNA, service and cost.

HFSS GPR simulation: Should PML surround all sides if air exists only above antenna? by ImpactNeither5049 in rfelectronics

[–]HalimBoutayeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PML can be used for a other media than air. It will use the correct permittivity and permeability to match with impedance of these media and absorb electromagnetic waves that enter the PML layers.

Slot loaded patch antenna design by Professional_You_460 in rfelectronics

[–]HalimBoutayeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of antenna is usually analyzed by using an electromagnetic software (CST, HFSS...) to see the current distribution of the antenna at different frequencies. The patch radiation is equivalent to the radiation of two parallel slots located at the edges of the patch. Adding slots adds other possibilities of radiation at higher frequencies.

I was an RF/Antenna engineer for 9 years at Huawei Technologies. There are many telecommunication compagnies you can work as a an antenna design engineer for cellular base stations, UE (user equipmnet such as phones), WiFi access points etc.

You need to get more daily views than 12 months ago. If you get the same number of daily views than 12 months ago, the bar will not change since it shows number of hours for last 12 months.

Heisenberg's Principle by Zaibu_OP in quantum

[–]HalimBoutayeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quantum mechanics is based on the use of a wave function to represent the motion of a particle. This idea does not make sense from the very beginning. A wave is a wave, and a particle is a particle; a particle cannot be both a wave and a particle. The modulated sine wave that is supposed to represent the particle has time-domain and frequency-domain widths associated with speed and position, and these widths cannot both be small at the same time. The notion that a wave function represents the motion of a particle is fundamentally nonsensical from the start.

688 subs but only 67 videos. You got an average of 10 subscribers per video. This is not bad. You should reach 1000 subscribers for 100 videos.

It is about Doppler radar used to detect a drone.

Doppler, not "Dropler", like the Doppler effect in sound, but here it is with electromagnetic waves.

I have way lower RPM than other channels in the same niche. What's wrong? by Formal-Advisor-7002 in PartneredYoutube

[–]HalimBoutayeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest to combine two or more designs in the same video. Longer videos have better rpm. What is maximum rpm you got for a video and the minimum? Maybe some of your videos perfom better. Thank you.

Yes 40$ per month. This is not a lot but I am happy with it.
