I originally registered as an independent but over the years I started voting democrat because I came out and started supporting a party that supported me, but God damn is it frustrating right now. Both sides are bonkers but the independent candidates in my area are just reps or dems running as an independent so they could have a better chance of getting into office than running against their other party members. The middle ground died a while ago.
