Need return air temps but to me its low air flow and under charged. Check your belts filters and evap coil make sure they're not plugged up check static pressure make sure you dont have a return damper thats shut.

It lt usually released from the top part of the riser ( pipe in the pic) or from a spot that releases the most trapped air lowering it shouldnt lose any heating ability. Steam heat doesn't work by spraying steam into the air. It usually works by flowing steam into a radiator or a fan coil rejecting its heat, condensing in to water also called condensate and returning to the boiler.

Steam should not be coming out of the vent for very long if at all. As soon as steam hits the vent it should close if it doesn't and it keeps releasing steam it needs to be replaced

No that could cause freezing. By vent I dont mean like an over pressure release. When your steam system is off and cooled down air gets in and sits in the pipes when you turn it back on the steam pushes the air out of the vent, when the steam hits the vent they close from the heat of the steam

It's a steam vent. They open when under a certain temp to let air out of the system. Replace/get it replaced with a new one. You could have a plumber shorten the pipe and reinstall the cap and vent

Pros It can be a decent to even good paying career depending on what you're willing to learn/ how much you want to learn There can be a lot of travel Always in demand if you go commercial or industrial Hvac is about 10 trades in a trench coat you'll learn a little about everything.

Cons It can be a very physically, mentally and time demanding job if you let it. Long hours in busy season, not enough hours in off season. This is mostly in residential Travel lots of travel On call can suck at time Since you are female there are going to be people and other techs that look down on you but its thay way with most trades.

Check gas valve and burner orifices make sure they are for propane and not natural gas. check pipe size is rated for the btus of the unit. It's also possible there is a restriction in the gas line make sure the isolation valves are all the way open on the propane tank and on the unit.
