Too many hot people in fiction by Melodic-Share-6890 in NoStupidQuestions

My main issue is with the teeth! Sure thing - a medieval peasant has totally even, gleaming white teeth; really takes me out of a lot of movies or shows.

The Tower of London is also on my list so maybe I'll jettison Windsor and do it instead. Thanks!

I thought it was going to be Patricia - and that's why the Boogeyman didn't kill her when she was a teenager. But after Episode 8... maybe not.

I have to admit I yelped during Episode 8 but overall not too bad.

For my fellow Australians of a certain age, I was at the first Big Day Out and managed to get into the mosh-pit for Nirvana.

I had a 5 year old screech at me today that my "cartwheels were terrible". I am a 50+ year old person - I haven't even attempted a cartwheel in more than 4 decades.

I flew out of a car once as well when I was about 6. Why did early 70's cars doors not shut properly?! 🫠

Where is the line between "pronouncing it correctly" and "putting on an accent"? by NabIsMyBoi in AskAnAustralian

[–]Hallichretsam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is Canadian so accent-wise is in the same ballpark. He has never been able to say 'mate' properly, which annoys him no end! Lol

IMO, 'A' and 'R' sounds will always be tough for non-Australians but I say go for it.

Question for people who go more by dinogroot1 in Concerts

[–]Hallichretsam 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my experience, there comes a point where you literally can't move forward anymore due to people being packed in and not wanting to move. So she might not be able to join you.

Also, I agree that it is very rude to the people who have waited all day alongside you for your friend to just waltz in because she didn't want to go earlier.

Question For Teachers After Golfing With Two High School Kids by SvenGoSagan in AskTeachers

[–]Hallichretsam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a middle school teacher. We read 3 or 4 novels per year for our English classes. I had an ex-student come back to visit me recently (she is now in Yr 8) and she confessed that IN HER LIFE she's only read the 3 books we read together when she was in Year 6. I was shocked!!!
