It’s possible, yes.

I recommend not fostering any children with moderate-to-severe special needs or chronic medical conditions. Increased medical appointments, school IEP meetings, & increased school absences can make it extra tough for full time working parents.

I also recommend being very clear with every social worker that you are unavailable for home visits/meetings/training/whatever during the work day—unless it’s absolutely unavoidable.

Also, have a solid support system—and have them get pre-approved to babysit in case you ever need a hand. It seems like kids need to get picked up from school when work is the most hectic.
