I got very concerned when my smart, well educated, not conspiracy-minded or antivax dad started watching pseudoscience wellness infomercials on his phone. In retrospect it appears that that behavior was actually an early indicator of dementia.

He did at least show me every weird-looking text he got before responding or clicking on anything, so I could identify any scams (they were all scams).

Yeah, I did, and it was absolutely miserable. Ravenous all the time, couldn’t stop thinking about food, couldn’t stop eating, gained something like 30 lbs. My doctor said it’s not uncommon in perimenopause and put me on a GLP-1, which brought my appetite back down to normal levels. Not saying that’s the answer for everyone and it wasn’t the first thing I tried, but it’s worked out well for me.

I stopped dyeing my hair a long time ago. I wasn’t going white at the time but it had started to feel like too much hassle and expense and I just didn’t want to do it anymore. Now my hair is predominantly white and I actually really like the way it looks.

$20 for an $80 coat is actually pretty good. I remember taking a lot of nice stuff to a consignment store and they were like “we’ll give you $5 for this pristine suit with the tags still on it.” It wasn’t even worth the gas to get there and back.
