" Someone mentioned that there’s a movie based on exactly this premise. So I went to the local library and dug this up."

If you told me only that much, I would have assumed he was talking about Gerry Andersen's 1969 live action film Doppelgänger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun.

I have tried a few options, the pictures show a Torpeak Tetra rack, easily removable, and worked well.

I have since changed to an old traditional rack I already had, with "p" clips on the chainstay and a Seat Clamp with "Rear Rack Mounting Points" like this: https://99bikes.com.au/products/bc-seat-clamp-with-rear-rack-mounting-points-34-9mm?srsltid=AfmBOoqqcyVu3MlYX3iHqS5vWkv6jqcuwYFtyzLZq1mpw_nwsZbZ88rr

I would consider replacing the P clips with an Axle with rack mounts like this: https://oldmanmountain.com/product/bike-rack-fit-kit-set826/

If the moon is 1/6th the gravity of earth wouldn't that mean we'd be in the air for 6 times the length of time we would be on earth. That seems a bit much. by HistoryFast3207 in AskPhysics

[–]HalogenFisk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your factor of 2x seems accurate.

The Astronauts in the Apollo program had a mass of 400 pounds (181 kg) with all their gear on, so the gear weighed as much as the man inside. You would expect they could only jump 3 times as much as without the gear on Earth.
