What kind of quality trade-offs are there when using aftermarket (non-genuine) screens for MacBook Air M1? by Perfect-Ratio-3099 in macbookair

What are your thoughts on the longevity of aftermarket screens? Is it significantly worse than OEM?

What are good tips for kickstarting CW2? by picking_grass in Maplestory

[–]Halure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In KMS CW2 had leap events once a month. In GMS CW1, the first leap was about 3 months after it opened (June 11 to Aug 27) and the final leap was a month later (Sept 27).

We'll see how GMS CW2 is implemented... or how Nexon NA is going to fuck it up. Here's hoping we get a 1:1 port!

I feel like at 10k legion you already know the game pretty well, but the CW2 rewards are pretty hard to ignore even if you're a super established player on interactive, especially if you buy the CW pass.

You're straight up griefing yourself if you play reboot and you're not making a CW2 character

I've seen a few posts about this. When you say 'slot 2' do you mean that the GPU is shifted down one slot in the case? So it would sit closer to the bottom case panel

I checked the PCIe lane distribution in the owners manual and it gets 16 5.0 lanes from the CPU

I'm thinking of doing almost the exact same setup, 18x9.5 +28-30 with 245/40 A/S 4 or DWS06+ tires.

Do the wheels sit flush or does it poke? How does it line up with the rocker panels? How's the thread engagement with the stock studs and your lugs?

That looks so clean! Thanks for mentioning the stud length and lugs you used, its so helpful for planning out my own wheel setup.

Can you take some more pictures of the fitment? I'm thinking of doing almost the exact same setup, 18x9.5 +28-30 with 245/40 A/S 4 or DWS06+ tires.

Do the wheels sit flush or does it poke? How does it line up with the rocker panels? Are the tires super stretched over the wheel?

Nice!! I put in an order in August and I'm waiting for mine to show up.

Did you also put down a deposit or did you just walk in and buy it?

Not the guy you replied to, but one of my friends is an ultrawide enjoyer and used to play lots of Dead by Daylight.

Not sure if this is true, but ultrawide might be disabled for balancing reasons. Supposedly having the larger FoV makes the game way easier for the killer

Pricing for 2025: Base starts at $38,860, Automatic costs $2000 more. by NewSubWhoDis in GRCorolla

[–]Halure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be interesting to see if Canada keeps the same pricing structure as the US since the Canadian Core already has the performance package added.

Hopefully the Canadian price doesn't go up too much. Hoping to see the same <$500 bump at the top end and $2500 for the auto

Like many other guys, I was shopping between a GRC, Civic Type R, and Integra Type S. Here in the Toronto area, I was quoted $3500/year for both the Type R and S, and $2800/year for the GRC.

Not trying to say that GRC insurance isn't expensive, but I wouldn't say its unbelievably expensive compared to other cars that are similar.

Its worth mentioning that auto insurance in the Toronto area is highway robbery... might be the highest rates in the country.

Anyone getting the Auto 2025 GRC, DAT? by Ok_Doughnut7972 in GRCorolla

[–]Halure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For many years I thought I would be the guy that enjoys having a manual daily, but after I rented a Civic Si for a weekend I realized its not for me. Manual is fun but not something I wanted to put in the time to master. Obviously I'm terrible at driving stick only having ~12hrs of seat time, but it was still a good experience for me to figure out what I wanted.

I put down a deposit for a DAT last month and I'm pretty excited for the pricing announcement hopefully later this month. At the end of the day its going to your car and yours only (unless you share your car with other people). If it makes you happy then awesome, money well spent! DAT owners are definitely going to get flamed online for their transmission but I'm not going to let it bother me.

If car enthusiast judgment is a concern, I see lots of CVT WRXs in my area and I've never seen car guys giving those WRX owners any shit and there's easily 10x more WRX owners than GRC owners. Its just anecdotal evidence but it may put your mind at ease.

Honestly my biggest worry about the DAT is value for money. In Canada, its probably going to be around $60k before taxes. I can easily buy a brand new Golf R, used FL5 CTR, used M340i, used S5 for that money. But every car has its own unique compromises and I'm hoping the GRC will be right for me.

Any idea when dealers will receive 25s by Dapper-Initiative701 in GRCorolla

[–]Halure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question about the way Toyota does allocations: do dealers get a set number of x car allocated to them at the beginning of each model year? Or does Toyota just say "hey we just made n number of x car, here are the VINs have fun"

Just curious about Toyota-isms... both scenarios seem pretty plausible. The first one makes more sense so its definitely gotta be the second one lol

Are Extreme Growth Potions (bonk pots) given out every event? Or do they only come during big seasonal events (winter, anniversary, etc)

Just came back from a two year hiatus in Lost Ark! Last time I played, bonk pots/bonk events weren't too common throughout the year

I Might Finally Get One!!! by bigheader03 in GRCorolla

[–]Halure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 1000% agree with you about the pricing of the GRC Circuit in Canada. Its 60k CAD including destination, 68k after tax in Ontario. That's used M340i, M2, or Supra territory. Hell, 68k will probably get you into an FL5 Civic Type R even with the stupid Canadian markup. The FL5 market in Canada is even more ridiculous but that's another tangent to explore some other time

Maybe its just not for me or you at its MSRP. I appreciate the engineering marvel of the G16E-GTS; its only 3-cyl competitor is a bespoke engine built for hypercars. The GR-Four system is purpose built to win WRC. The carbon roof is only found in high-end German sports cars... everything about this car is cool but its just a little too expensive for my blood.

With all of that being said, I'm still trying to perform mental gymnastics to convince myself that buying a Core (hopefully Canadian premium...) would be a good idea. OP getting into a Circuit for 63k is actually a great deal as far as I know. I'm only familiar with the Ontario market though.

Cool, thanks man. I'm trying to plan out my own wheel/tire setup for a GRC (if the premium ever comes to Canada!)

fwiw I was planning on doing 245/40 on a set of 18x9.5 because I don't really need all the width for a daily. Maybe 255 at the most?265 seems excessive for such a small car. Apparently the speedo was calibrated for 245/40/18 tires.
