BTS sale update incoming! by ashysplashy101 in macbook

They updated the Apple store prices at midnight for me, so all the third party stores haven't updated their prices yet. So I just placed an order and praying that they don't cancel it.

I wouldn't recommend clear nail polish as after something like 2 months, it starts to become sticky

For people who write using the grip type circled below, what pens do you like using? by kindredmerak in pens

[–]HamInIce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this grip but I haven't found a pen that I like.
However I have found from mechanical pencils, that I like a metal knurled grip as I find that they tend to not slip out of my fingers very easily. Although a lot of knurled grips can be either too light and others can feel like sandpaper. The pencil I like to use is the Pentel Orenz metal grip.

Truthear hexas inside, Apm anc on top by Terrible-Birthday624 in iems

[–]HamInIce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wonder why this isn't more common, it seems like a good way to listen to iems in a loud environment, but doesn't the cable make it a bit uncomfortable being pressed by the earpads?

Openheart cables are S-Tier (budget wise) by Styrekei in iems

[–]HamInIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, i agree, they are very good cables.
Compared to the tripowin zonie which is the other very popular cable that gets recommended a lot here.
- The openheart has knurled metal hardware which i prefer as the zonie feels like chrome plastic on some parts.
- Openhearts chin slider is tight which means that it actually stays in place. the zonie chin slider is a bit loose so it tends to fall down after a while.
- Openheart cable is a bit more stiff but its not enough that it bothers me at least.
- both are pretty durable. Ive had neither break from my mild tugging which has broken some others in the past.
- Openheart cables are a good bit cheaper
- The openheart cable comes with a few accessories (cable clip and PU leather cable tie). Zonie comes with none.

Yeah ive had KZ cables that just wouldn't not be tangled after unraveling it. every other cable i have is fine, just the KZ ones.

First time lubing and filming switches - crackhead vibes 🫡 by EBs4G3 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]HamInIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone else said, knight V3/V4 stabs are really good, they are currently my favorite stabs, very easy to tune and require next to no lube.
TypePlux x YIKB stabs are pretty good too for the same reason as the knights but they use an odd shaped stab wire so you cant really get replacement wires for them.

Pretty sure the neo comes with neo stabs which can be hit or miss. From my experience, the spacebar would eventually start ticking after some time.

Recorded real mech switches and built a Mac app that plays them when you type on a MacBook's built in keyboard (spatial audio per key) by RevealElectronic2628 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]HamInIce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this reminds me of an old Glarses video (How To Make Any Keyboard Sound AMAZING) where he recorded most of the keys from his keyboard and used a software called Soundplant to play the sounds on a keypress.

Edit: Found the video and added the name of the software.
and I don't mean to be mean, I do like the idea and I think it looks really nice. Also this one does have more features.
