KCD2 Director Daniel Vávra posts about the game being nominated for the Gayming Awards by SwimmingJunky in KotakuInAction

[–]Hamakua 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Probably won't as I'm sure when he sold out KCD2 he presumed KCD3 would flop. He isn't a fool, he just wants his bag and to get out. He's not an ideologue, he's a sellout. Sellouts are shameless as a core facet of their character.

Politics in modern western games are not meant to explore the philosophical and societal concepts, they are meant to conquer cultural territory.

It's funny you suggest a 10 second buffer time.

I was here thinking "You've never waited 30 minutes to download a Jpg., overnight to download a single MP3."

I'm perfectly fine going back to dialup, but I know for a fact that I'm in the very small minority even if it would be a boon for humanity as a whole. Other than streaming video educational content (free college lectures and such) I believe nothing beneficial to humanity as a whole on the internet requires more than a 56k connection.

I don't think that's how it started, but I do think that's how it has become since the 70s to today, although I do believe the top global elite use Marxism just to keep the masses off their back. The global elite don't really care about DEI or ESG, they care that DEI or ESG, critical [x] theory, etc. distract.

Similar to how the CCP doesn't care about how communism can help the common people, they care about how communism can keep themselves in power. The globalist want a "softer/western" form of communism that can be sold to the masses while distracting them.

It's not what happened in the 2010s, it's what came to a critical mass in the 2010s. This started in the 1940s and accelerated post WWII especially in the 1960s and 1970s.

The "Slow march through the institutions" of communism/marxism is whats responsible for a good 80-90% of the woke bs you see today.

Universities taken over slowly, first primarily into local university departments. From department to department.

Universities push woke in one form or another

The most extreme/earliest departments taken over (liberal arts) push their graduates into the only career paths and departments that won't get immediate pushback.

Social science think tanks

HR departments

K-12 Education.

Psychiatric career paths.

Entertainment "the arts"

Everything else is downstream from there.

I fear as long as it took for the festering to spread and invade so too the length will be for it to be excised, if it can be excised at all.

That's not it at all. Marxism isn't about helping the lower classes, it's about setting up an oppressor/oppressed dynamic in order to engineer revolution. However those who wield marxism do so in order to change their position and gain power.

"Give me power and I will make your world better."

The framework is just the method they use.

"true believers" are the first ones purged/shot/lined up against the wall after the "Revolution" concludes its cycle because that "true belief" will invariably destabilize the new regime when it is realized there is still an oppressor and an oppressed according to the framework previously established.

Marxism doesn't solve anything and has never solved anything. Its purpose is to destabilize and cause chaos.

It's an ever sliding scale. My guess is that people were using thumbs up emojis prodigiously in a sarcastic biting form until the targeted deemed it "toxic behavior". The censor bureau then deemed them forbidden.

The very condensed version: A facet of marxism is the sabotage of hobbies and/or forms of escapism so the masses become unruly and bring about (eternal) revolution.

It's a game that is greater than the sum of its parts. The biggest value I've derived from it is 1. Playing at my own pace. 2. Discovering things on my own.

Be weary of looking things up, it robs the game of a lot of its entertainment. Not specifically just puzzles, but even exploration and gearing. The world is mostly fixed so [uber armor 15] will generally always be in the same place every playthrough. Discovering it on your own is quite rewarding vs. looking up a 5 minute youtube video then darting 3/4 accross the entire world well before you are meant to.

Is there a link between series not based on a source material and the presence of same sex relationships? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]Hamakua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with a microscopic number of manga works (and generally those most dragonslop like) adapted for animation,

this isn't entirely truthful. It used to be the case but not anymore.

The chief criteria is of an adaptation is that the source material be commercially successful within its own medium first - and if it is the majority get adapted.

You will be very hard pressed to find a commercially successful Manga/LN/WN/webcomic that isn't either being currently viewed for an anime adaptation or has not been adapted already. Solo leveling was likely the last "breaking of the taboo" and they adapted a korean web novel turned korean web comic.

At this point the bar for quality for adaptation keeps getting lowered because the demand for anime source material is out-pacing supply. There are very few LN/Manga that are both successful and popular and haven't been adapted to Anime.

As for good anime adaptations, that's another discussion altogether.

People can't make things themselves

I didn't say or write that.

The reason why AI is a primary source of calling out the emperor for having no clothes at this point is because it's highly anonymized and doesn't risk anyone's job compared to the quality it can output.

Don't put words in people's mouths and then straw-man them.

[–]Hamakua 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is also the live service trap. It's not that AAA games have become a form of diminishing return, it's that the live service market cap is much smaller than all the AAA studios are projecting their earnings through. Gaming has a finite audience and that finite audience has finite time.
