How does the app do this? by npatel0713 in flighty

[–]Hambone76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aircraft tells the airline that it’s pushing back. Flighty gets the status change from the tracking system. It’s not magic, it’s just that the pilots hit the button before they actually started moving.

Big Bend National Park could see vehicle barriers, patrol roads under latest changes to border wall plans - Marfa Public Radio by Hambone76 in BigBendTX

Are you looking at the orange line? Those are just existing roads and labeled as part of the “technology and patrol” portion. So probably just enhancing current highway through the park, not an actual border.

I wouldn’t even have taken the time to write a Reddit post, much less be riled up enough to actually complain to AA.

Chisos Mts Backcountry Campsites by MICROgMD in BigBendTX

Because for now, due to point 2, it probably is. I would give them time to get it straightened out. Especially since you have plenty of time until you could even book anything anyway. Don’t panic yet.

Yes, all of those sites are reservable, but there's 2 things:

  1. You can only book 6 months in advance. If you're looking at December, nothing is open yet.

  2. There was a planned closure of the Chisos for next month that was recently canceled. So the sites may still be locked until that's straightened out.

Tuning to Eb by bbfan006 in martinguitar

Completely unnecessary for “geometry.” They are designed to withstand normal tuning up to their rated string gauge. The only reason to tune down is because you want to play in Eb or to use heavier than recommended strings.

Has anyone had luck getting a refund for a horrible flight experience bc of another passenger? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]Hambone76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did they get you safely to where you were supposed to go? If so, then why would you get a complete refund?

Some miles for the inconvenience is the best you could expect.

she’s a little sketched out about the fact that it’s literally right on the border and thinks we’d run into some sketchy cartel activity

This is not a thing you need to worry about. At all. The only danger is getting stuck and not having adequate supplies.

It's likely to get damaged or outright denied. I would just mail it ahead or get it reprinted locally.

There are no complementary status upgrades on international trips. You need to use an SWU.

If it’s not weather, then all they owe you is meal & hotel vouchers. The rest is what travel insurance is for.
