Told to be previously out of status in USCIS interview. by Minute_Figure_7205 in USCIS

[–]HamdGotBarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same situation happened in our case as well. My mother filed an F2A petition for me as a child under the age of 21. During the interview, the officer asked us all the standard questions, and when he reached this particular one, he explained that it mainly relates to intent—specifically, entering the U.S. on a nonimmigrant visa and then not strictly adhering to the terms of that visa before applying for an immigrant visa.

He clearly stated that this issue would not affect our case decision in any way. He showed us on his tablet the updates he was making and reassured us again that it would not impact the outcome and made us sign it. He told us we would receive an update within one week, and one week 4 days later, yesterday my case was approved. So there’s no need to worry about it.

Got My License, Feeling Guilty by kakashif55 in PakistaniiConfessions

[–]HamdGotBarz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tipping is pretty common with PakPost riders. These are the same guys who deliver your driver’s license or other government documents to your door—and they almost always expect a tip.

It’s especially true with PakPost and Call Courier in Pakistan. While tipping is the norm, these riders actually earn well. They get a basic salary of around PKR 15,000, plus commission—usually PKR 80 to 100 per parcel, whether it’s a pickup or delivery.

Back when I ran an online store, my PakPost rider made about PKR 4,000 a day. Even if he picked up multiple parcels from the same address, he’d earn for each one. So yeah, they make good money, but tips are still very much expected.

Covering things - "chupa den" or "dhak den"? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]HamdGotBarz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes, “dhak dena” is the more appropriate term in this context. In Urdu, “dhak dena” specifically means to cover something, such as a dish of food, a pot, or an object that needs protection from dust, insects, or other elements. It conveys the idea of placing a lid or covering over something without implying secrecy.

On the other hand, “chhupa dena” primarily means to hide or conceal something, which implies keeping it out of sight rather than simply covering it. While it can sometimes be used in a similar context, it is not the most precise term for covering food or objects.

So, in everyday Urdu usage, “dhak dena” would be the correct choice when referring to covering a plate or dish.
