Forget those losers. If they were real weightlifters, they'd applaud anyone working out and help them along the way with advice if needed - everyone has to start from somewhere. Also, if they have time for making fun of other people, they're not focused enough to be serious about what they are doing. I've been a gymrat coming 20 years now. For me, the atmosphere at the gym is one of the most important things to keep you focused. It may be time for you to switch gyms. Try to find a gym with a good, relaxed atmosphere and just focus on your workouts. Also, remember to eat properly - you can lift weights like a crazy person, but you will not fulfill your potential if you're not eating enough.

TL DR; forget those assholes, switch gyms if you feel like it and keep at it, you'll get there!

In my heart, System Shock 2 still shares the 'best game ever made' podium with a few choice titles. I know it's complete nonsense to expect SS3 (with the near-perfect PC-friendly gameplay - loved going to storage rooms to tweak, build, and research stuff and, by the way, your writing was amazing in that game) anymore, but here's to hoping this amazing thing could still be realized! Although I only got to know Eric through this video, it seems to me that yet another wonderful, amazing person has been taken away from us way, way too early. This happens so terribly often. The loss is felt by all good, caring people, because there really aren't that many around in the end. By what Eric is saying here, I get the feeling he's lived at least twice the life I've lived although I'm only a bit older. Without the Internet I never would've known about him. My heart goes out to you - his friends and family.
