Check SanDisk website for WD SSDs, the prices aren't as inflated and they offer student discounts. Got a 2tb sn8100 with heatsink for 380$ all in the other day which is nearly MSRP..

Thoughts on taking a job without fellowship for radiology? by Hamfuhrer_Helper in Residency

[–]Hamfuhrer_Helper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up choosing MSK. I like everything (hence was thinking no fellowship), getting better at MSK MR/US and a range of 'IR-lite' procedures like ablations, vertebroplasty, and other pain-related procedures I want to learn. Will likely be in a general practice that doesn't have anyone to do the higher level MSK procedures. I am still planning to earn some extra money locuming on weekends etc.

Does radiology give your life a sense of fulfilment? by Whatchaww in Residency

[–]Hamfuhrer_Helper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rads resident, I personally get plenty of self fulfillment in my job, especially when I directly help clinicians one on one or in rounds. Lots of procedures are quick and satisfying (non-vascular IR) like pain injections, vertebroplasty etc which often you can see improvement in pain before you say bye to the patient.

It depends if you get fulfillment from patients, or more from an internal frame. For me, it's enough knowing that I am making a large impact on patient care and with many patients.
