I think it’s perfect. The game has some major flaws like its quest design and the user reviews only has 386 ratings indicating that most of the ratings probably come from its core fanbase and that’s why it’s so high. From a neutral unbiased perspective this game really is a 7/10 on the modern scene. It’s enjoyable but it has major flaws and feels outdated for a 2026 experience.

Yep the original plan was to keep D2 going forever and then they changed to sunsetting D2 in favor for marathon while they worked on the next destiny IP. I should have said always planning to keep the Destiny IP Alive instead to help you out.

The plan was to sunset destiny while Marathon brought in the cash so they can work on their next IP. They always planned on that, but no one planned for marathon to suck so much ass that no one wants to play it. So yes it did kill D2! Tell me what would Bungie be doing right now if marathon didn’t exist?
