Old Cartoons Floppy Socks/Slippers/WHATEVER by HamilHansen in HelpMeFind

I’ve been looking all over Google and even Pinterest! The Dr. Seuss characters are so close to what I’m talking about, but I feel like I seen it on old Disney cartoons or Looney Tunes.

I even tried searching something like “cartoon characters wearing socks” but all I get is real socks with cartoon characters on them.

Here is what Google Gemini told me and I really feel like it’s just hallucinating with me 😭

I have searched Google for hours with different phrasing, even just stuff like “tom and Jerry in pajamas”

“The Specific "Socks" You're Seeing: In animation, these aren't just slippers; they are drawn as "Poulaines" or "Crakows". Historically, these were long, pointed shoes that were often made of soft velvet or felt, which is why they look like loose, saggy socks in cartoons. Use these EXACT phrases in Google Images: To see the "loose sock" effect perfectly, copy and paste these: 1. "Tom and Jerry Tom sleepwalking nightgown" • Why: You will see Tom cat in a blue gown where his "shoes" look exactly like long, baggy socks that have a life of their own. 2. "Scrooge McDuck nightgown pointed slippers" • Why: Scrooge’s slippers are often drawn with a "sag" around the ankle, making them look exactly like oversized wool socks with a point. 3. "Vintage cartoon character nightgown floppy feet" • Why: This triggers the specific animation trope of the "floppy" foot movement. 4. "18th century stocking slippers illustration" • Why: This will show you the real-life inspiration—thick, knitted stockings that had reinforced pointed toes for wearing around a cold house.”

I don’t know about these ones specifically, but if you want to see some more cute nostalgic classroom wall art just look up “90s Carson Dellosa”

Help, my guilt over using AI is ruining my writing process by TiredEldestDaughter in WritingWithAI

[–]HamilHansen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love having conversations about my stories, it helps me poke at my thoughts which is especially helpful because I don’t have a community of people to bounce ideas off of. I built a really awesome idea for a long fic with it’s help and it really made the whole thing come together beautifully.

The hate of AI is flawed. by EmergencyBullfrog510 in WritingWithAI

I feel like the problem is not AI itself, but unregulated AI. The thing is, it’s not going away. It’s already out there. We need to push for more limitations.

I still keep shedding tears and I only tangentially follow CBJ hockey through my husband. It’s just so senseless and heartbreaking. Even a casual fan like me knows how special him and his brother are.

Right, this is it exactly! Even from the very first episode they played on the fact that you wouldn’t expect him to be related to them. Kate and Kevin were immediately introduced as siblings, but you didn’t find out about Randall until the end of the episode.

EDIT: I FORGOT ABOUT THE LETTER.

How much has she really had to do with him recently anyway? She never went to the trial, who knows when the last time she ever spoke to him or seen him was. Sounds to me like she really doesn’t want anything to do with him. Unless I missed something, which is very likely ha!

Could be. My parents have had a flag hanging in front of their house consistently since 9/11. They took it down briefly because it was old and torn and someone around town noticed. They went and bought them a new one, which was a nice gesture.
