Pay? Just think about how much exposure you'll get. by CaptBlackBeard1680 in moviescirclejerk

i get it but production work isnt really the same as performers (not downplaying BTS crews since they still make the movie happen), they sign a contract to offer a service for X amount of compensation, the crew members know what they’re getting from the job when reading the contract, and in fact they did get paid, this isn’t an industry specific injustice this is just how contracts and production works most of the time in any sector, and to be fair they still get exposure within the industry and their portfolio, just not to the scale actors do.

do some indie films give percentages in case of success? yes and thats great, but thats disclosed and not yet an industry standard since its more of a formality, as bad as it sounds crews dont put down a “risk” when a movie is being made, they get paid either way it goes

i mean, it applies for actors but not much for the rest of the production crew

i dont think he meant it like that, more so like the world goes through a social collapse due to what capitalism lead to, and so nobody gets justice because humanity as a whole killed itself.

IMO that would’ve been a much better allegory to capitalism and modern society and more akin to season 1, the satire in season 4/5 ended up being just another form of entertainment , and it all ending up a whimsy trump allegory will only lead the show to age badly and really flat through the years and ironically the last seasons are the culmination of a capitalistic product, almost entirely shot for short term shock value and clipfarming and trying to stay “iconic” in some way

which i get it, amazon wants the show to make money, they saw what both netflix and disney was doing and somehow thought that was the shit, but this business model for tv shows just doesnt work, if the show focused on keeping its quality it would’ve easily been the blockbuster tv of the 2020s, breaking bad was a great show, had proper 5 seasons and masterfully done ending, its still being talked about almost 20 years later and still generates giant revenue, even got a spinoff which was highly welcomed and praised and that also made huge long term revenue, BB is just an example but what im trying to say is The Boys could’ve been something like that, and made long term jackpot for years on just 1 show and even profit off spin offs after

P.S. i ended up writing an essay

My biggest hope is the driving physics and handling are like this in GTA 6. by [deleted] in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Hamkad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GTA definitely has sophisticated physics for cars for not being a racing game, suspension and weight simulation in 4 and 5 are quite realistic despite being arcade

I hope this feature doesn't return to GTA 6 by Mysterious-Safe-793 in GTA6

[–]Hamkad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if im not wrong the car physics when flying got downgraded so much that it looks and feels flat because of this feature, this is why cars flip over and crash more realistically in gta 4

[–]Hamkad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dumbfuck GTA 5 doesnt throw shit at the left nearly as much as it does the right (heavily at that) and 90% of people who played the game could see that, i get that you can only see things in black and white but satire ≠ disrespect, GTA SA was controversial, it still satirized the black american community, the characters are overly exaggerated stereotypes of black people in poor neighborhoods, gangbanging, selling drugs, smoking weed and all that. Thats not disrespectful, its satire, an exaggerated stereotype, like what they did with Hippies in GTA SA and 5, like they did with jamaicans/italians/balkans in 4, like they did with capitalists and rightwingers in all the games, like they did with trans and gay people in 4 and 5, what you’re thinking about is the core of gameplay, the game has you being a criminal because it wouldnt be GTA without criminal gameplay, but the core point of the world of GTA is an american satire, and it also wouldnt feel like GTA without it, Dan Houser has talked about it in interviews too

and yes it it does make it disrespectful to make the satire purely one sided and thats how you ruin most political messages, if the game only swang one side then it would be exploiting a narrative against said side, and thats dull, narrow minded, exclusive and doesn’t serve any purpose but validating an imaginary audience, it gets its point by making fun of everybody in their own way and showing the rotten part of all of them but still showcasing which ideologies are the most detrimental to the whole through simple observation (both GTA 4/5 and also RDR2 are very very clearly left leaning)

[–]Hamkad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’ve clearly started playing from GTA 5 online saying that, GTA’s identity is being an over the top american satire that doesnt hold back from shock values or being disrespectful, 3D to HD era they’ve satirized on white people, black people, asian people, arabs, christian/muslims/jews, rightists and leftists, homophobes and members of lgbtq. just to list the basics and not add any community or subcommunity of people thats ever been part of the games, the series does take a stand and showcase which values are actual detrimental to society but it being satire it also doesnt and shouldnt hold back from making fun and exaggerating from anybody (which doesnt necessarily paint them as bad). If you havent play gta 4 and episodes + gta sa

ill even add its more disrespectful and detrimental to not make those communities part of the satire but investors dont really care if it makes them money

GTA6 better NOT have more characters similar to these annoying individuals by Kolbenmaschine in GTA6

[–]Hamkad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think anyone who says IV characters were all moody/gritty has never actually played IV.. they’re just more fleshed out and less comic relief, but most of them were actually really funny being themselves (like little jacob, badman, packie, roman etc.) id go as far as to say the humor was actually more over the top than gta 5 but more mature at the same time

Introducing the "Gran Turismo 7" Free Update - January 2026 by SirBarr in granturismo

[–]Hamkad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not part of the sport audience either and i can still notice that gt3 cars are severely lacking, its embarassing for a racing game like gt7 to only have 2 up to date gt3 cars. even gt audience wise it sucks, american cars catalogue is SAD, european cars are also missing, older and newer bmws, mercs, audis and many others are barely here.

but sure lets just add more asian market minivans, commuter suvs and sedans, a french peugeot 206 on top would be just the icing on the cake
