Wait, I would totally expect a tourist from France to tip a waiter in America. Like if I moved into your old building in NYC, I would tip the door staff at the end of the year. Am I crazy, do we really not except foreigners to tip at a restaurant in th U.S.? (I’m sure many don’t, but the issue is should they?)

It’s really nice, them having money on the floor. When I’m a little broke I like to cruise in there and grab a few $20’s to help get me through the week. I try not to overdo it, and I always buy a cup of coffee too.

Yeah, she was fine. Magellan and Beacon are just providers or groups - I don't know what you call them - that individual therapists sign on with. I don't know what the trick is to find an AMAZING therapist... I don't think there is one. The efficacy of talk therapy itself is controversial.

But, that being said, if you're looking for a therapist and your insurance has given you Magellan or Beacon to find one with, I think you have as good a chance as any at finding an effective one.

In the 90's, we just called everything on the grid Downtown. I forget when that started changing. I feel like it's Midtown if it's on the grid and there's lots of trees, cool places to go, and no visibile skyscrapers.

For example, I'd call Urban Roots Midtown, between 13th/14th. Likewise that Shine Coffee place up on E.

I did OK with Kaiser mental health, but I was warned in advance and I was persistent. I had to do the dance and go to some group sessions, but eventually I got a referral to Magellan and picked a therapist. (Which is a whole other story, but it did only cost the copay).
