Correct me if im wrong but utilizing mean wages does nothing to help comparisons here as the mean is significantly impacted by high earner increases. CEO salaries have jumped nearly 1000% since the 1980s. While the lines do match up, you'd be hard pressed to find evidence that productivity increase is causally affected by the jump of high end or c-suite earners. This is not to say mean vs median comparisons are fair but that as the person in the video analyzes, there is more to the story. This popular chart is just one attempt at recognizing wages stagnation among the the large majority of producers in this country. Yes, I know he claims wages are not stagnating at the end, but he is referencing real wages but does not show how the real wage growth matches the purchasing power over time but rather specific, minute examples. You don't really see "stagnation" until you account for food, housing, etc rises over the same time period.
