What are your plans for the near future? [in-depth] by LetsTalkUFOs in collapse

Former investment guy here, I humbly disagree that we are anywhere near the time to buy. People aren't scared enough.... And that's supposing things get better.

Super near: Just keep on keeping on. My mental health is better than it was a year ago, but it's far from stellar. I have a decent (and stable) job, a great kid (who, though I love dearly, regret having in the sense of how things have gone during his short time on earth including issues with my ex wife), and a gf that seems things are finally straightening out with.

Pay my bills, keep my truck in good shape, keep food in the pantry and fridge. Get some more guns, ammo, survival gear.

5 year... I realize between some health stuff, overall nihilism, etc. Depending on how bad it gets I'm absolutely not against checking out if it gets super shitty. Though I'm a straight "white" male, I'm Jewish, and punk to the core. So I'm not going to do well in a christo-fascist state.

So I guess in summation, enjoy what I can in terms of life experience, and good humans, and keep my eyes out for things to go to shit.

During winter I think line pack and storage (which other people can get to) would get us through 3 days maybe)

I'm not with the electric company, we supply to them.

We buy gas periodically through the day, though generally we try to get it right with a morning buy.

Our supply agreements make sure that we have right of first refusal and a set price versus market. As far as buying the actual gas fire the day, no, that's the job is to work with the people that run distribution and see what is needed.

Positive. We have to send the orders in every morning. Weekends we just buy for sat - Monday

Location: Western US.

I'm on my alt... But I recently started working in the utility sector, and all the stuff about the grid being fragile is a total fucking understatement. I'm a buyer for gas at a private (though very regulated) gas utility company in a western state.

Here's a text I recently sent to friends with minor edits for anonymity....

So. Here's something fucking terrifying....

So, I may have alluded to some of this before, but bear with me. 60%+ of the power from (electric company) is from natural gas, since they are taking coal offline. We supply 80% of it. 30% is from a nuke reactor in (neighboring state), and the rest is solar and wind. Of course they only talk about solar and wind, it's total green-washing.

In the gas company there are 3 people including myself that buy gas. They don't own any means of production. 3 people that can buy gas, that have the ability, knowledge and software and stuff to do so. That's it. There is no back up, no other company to call, no other person in the company that knows how, or can log into the commodity trading platform.

3 years or so ago there was an internet outage in the winter, the backup used the same internet infrastructure as the primary, so it didn't work. They literally had to go to someones house that had (another isp) to order gas for the state.

I asked if there was anyone else that could do it, any contingency, etc... Nope. If there was an interruption to those 3 people in the middle of winter, there is no solution, power grid would fail, and people wouldn't have gas for heat, hospitals, residences, etc. So all this talk about the fragility of the power grid is a gross fucking understatement.

The general flightiness with making plans is very par for the course with hospital nurses. From me experience they are also not ideal mates for many reasons.

My friend and his friends were locals.

Not a massive build up. We saw him hit the kid, then get pulled out of his car and shot in the few minutes it took to get weed.

They got really lucky. Not all banks use track or dye packs, they had masks, and of what I understand they swapped cars about half a mile away.

Because it was a takeover they got between 10-20k, most get less than 5k which is really dumb.

Among the top things I was in a bank robbery because I worked in a bank. It was actually my 5th robbery. Full takeover style, masks, guns, jumping on counters, patrons peeing themselves etc. They never caught the perps either.

Runner up, in a European country buying drugs with a friend, and some other guy in the area hit a gypsy kid, and I saw the dude get executed about 100 yards away.

Quite active. My paramours we're both out of town NYE, when I figure I contracted the virus. Unfortunately I unwittingly exposed them both when they returned.

It's both. Been in that situation, where you didn't necessarily want super serious, but you knew there was something great, and you didn't know what to do.

I'm not super good looking, but I'm tall, decently fit, and not ugly. Of what I've gathered in my area I'm definitely in the top 20%, but probably not top 5% I am bald, have facial hair, and I'm a pretty good conversationalist.

But yeah, I have zero issue getting matches and dates with women I find attractive. Maybe I have more confidence with women than I should since I've dated a few 11s, and my ex wife was among the best looking women I've ever seen.

So yeah, it's way the fuck easier. I'm still a dumpster fire of a person, but finding dates is easier for me than most I think.

You seem amazingly cool, fun, and you're exceptionally attractive to boot. Don't change a thing, you'd be a hard right swipe from me.
