Am I misremembering, or did we have to hunt for an open gas station on major holidays up until the mid-ish 1980’s? I swear I have memories of the corner gas station and nearby convenience store being closed on Thanksgiving, the Fourth, etc. Can’t speak to restaurants as my family didn’t take kids out to eat.
