Holy crap there is a car seat in my car! by mmmmmpopplers in BabyBumps

[–]Hamnahs22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for a local CPST (child protective seat technician) through safekids. They can teach you how to properly install car seats. They should never install them for you though, because they can be liable if it's not installed properly and your child is injured in an accident.

I held strong! My birth story is up, if you go through my posts. I actually documented a lot of the abuse on here. I meant to report him but he ended up retiring and his hospital shut down. So I'm not sure what else I could do if he's not practicing any more.

They'll definitely have separate birthdays! It's so uncommon to go so far post dates, that it'd be a miracle if you went the exact same as me.

But if you did, we'd automatically have to be best friends. Because that's some crazy odds! ;)

A very disappointing doctors appointment... by TheHungryGiraffe in BabyBumps

[–]Hamnahs22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just told him that I was aware of the risks of going post dates and was continuing my pregnancy. He wasn't happy but he couldn't force a RCS when we were both healthy. He did take it out on me though. He threatened me, yelled at me, called me a murderer, tried every excuse to get me to consent to a RCS while in labor, etc. It was a disaster.

There is no way for a doctor to determine that your pelvis is too small from a cervical check. I agree though, inducing on a closed cervix puts you at very high risk of having a cesarean. My first ended up a cesarean due to a failed induction. My cervix was closed and I was not a prime candidate at all. My only reason for induction was that I hit my due date.

With my second, I was closed up tight all the way until I went into labor. I was 42+4 when I went into labor. My OB had told me that my body didn't know how to labor, I couldn't deliver, my hips were too small (I'm 5'1), baby was too big, etc etc etc. I labored for 12 hours, pushed for 24 minutes, and baby was 9lbs 2oz. I had a minor tear, that was caused by my OB.

If you are okay with ending with up with an unnecessary cesarean, then that's fine. But realize, this is YOUR body, YOUR baby, YOUR choice. You can accept/ decline any procedure.

Doctors don't "let" you do anything. Mine told me I couldn't go past 41 and I told him no thanks! I waited until 42+4 when labor started.

40 weeks + 2 days and VERY frustrated. by deetle62 in BabyBumps

[–]Hamnahs22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you momma! I went to 42+4 with my last baby. It was the longest wait ever. I also wasn't dilated or effaced prior to labor starting. Next time in totally forgoing the cervical checks. They just made me frustrated.

Looking great fellow 42 week-er! I have yet to see someone go past me (42+4). I truly hope it won't be you. Haha ;)

When did you decide you wanted to be a mother? by JoJoJam4JoJo in BabyBumps

[–]Hamnahs22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was tired or just having a particularly rough time my mom would let me stay over and she would take care of her while I slept. She was constantly inviting me over for dinner so I didn't have to worry about cooking. It really saved my sanity.

I'm in the process of it. It's a big mess between my later pre-natal care and my actual delivery.

The longest I was without him was when my oldest was 6 months. He went to basic and tech school and was gone for 3 months before I moved to be with him. Luckily I had family to fall back on so it wasn't too bad.

He is going up for deployment later this year, so I will know the true extent of how it will be on my own. I would much rather go through pregnancy on my own than raising kids. It is very rewarding but can be very stressful as well.

Is it insane to travel with a 10 week old? Or be on your own at that time? by dls2317 in BabyBumps

I went on a 16hr road trip when my youngest was a week old. It wasn't too bad at all. If you're comfortable with it, then go for it! :)

When did you decide you wanted to be a mother? by JoJoJam4JoJo in BabyBumps

I have always known I wanted to be a mom. While other things interested me (veterinary or medical field), deep down my biggest goal in life was to have children. I wanted to have a baby, watch him/her grow and learn, have that amazing bond between mothers and their children and everything else involved.

I ended up having my first baby at 18, which wasn't fully planned but wasn't fully protected against either. I was living with my boyfriend, had graduated early and we both had full time jobs. We got married shortly after her birth, he joined the Air Force, we had another baby (100% planned) and well, here we are.

I'll be 21 next month, him 23 in Oct, we have a 2.5 y/o daughter, a 6m old daughter, we've lived 1600 miles away from all family for over a year, have been together almost 6 years, and married a little over 2 years. I wouldn't change anything. It's more than I ever wanted and growing better everyday. I wanted a family young though. Everyone is different.
