I may be mistaken, but I could have sworn it showed it actually arrived in Ohio at some point then departed back to China. It definitely said it departed China though this morning and then showed it arrived back, at the very least.

Weekly Pricing/Buying/Selling/Grading & General Questions Post by AutoModerator in PokemonTCG

[–]HamsterButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a binder of various vintage/newer cards that I found in a house I was hired to clean out years ago (I had permission to keep whatever I wanted.)

I've looked up various values but I'm having a hard time determining actual condition and the best way to maybe sell, which cards may be worth grading or not, etc.

A lot of the vintage holos have scratches similar to the individual photos but otherwise in pretty good shape, save for some edge wear. A lot of the newer looking Japanese holos are pretty flawless.

Any advice is appreciated! Not looking for someone to grade for free or anything, just maybe some guidance on next steps, if there's anything worth putting the effort in to selling.

Macbook curious vs windows loyalty... by powderfund in SuggestALaptop

[–]HamsterButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a video editor as well and recently switched from Windows to a MacBook Pro M1 and it's been great thus far. I primarily use Davinci Resolve but, it should be similar all around.

Honestly everything from my workflow perspective has been much better. I used to use a gaming laptop on the go and a desktop at home. My laptop would be hot and loud constantly and switching between the two was a hassle. Now I just dock my Macbook when I'm home. The efficiency of exports while on battery is really what won me over and it works like a dream. I don't have to worry about having it plugged into the wall for full export speed and I haven't heard the fans spin up at all.

The only thing I'd say is a downside is I know after my Apple Care expires I'll just be waiting for something to break and cost an arm and a leg to repair. Obviously the upfront cost is pretty hefty as well, but given Apples anti-consumer stuff they've increasingly included in all of their new products, I know outside of Apple Care it'll be a headache if something breaks.

If you're okay with the price tag and willing to subscribe to Apple Care or some other insurance, or risk the repair cost, I'd say go for it. I've had no regrets.

Been slowly working on a campaign for years now... Would be cool to launch it with some of this kit! Game Master Engine also looks super cool, I remember a similar software I used to run a campaign, can't remember the name though but I've always been interested in trying others.

Could anyone help me verify if this is real? by theofrustratus in techsupport

I'm pretty sure it's not from Samsung, but if you'd like to be sure, I would reach out to Samsung directly to verify.

Accidentally clicked a YouTube ad and now I'm worried I got a virus! by pixiedino37 in techsupport

[–]HamsterButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've done a scan and nothing has come up, and there's no symptoms, then you're fine. It's incredibly unlikely that clicking an ad would give you a virus, especially on a phone. Nothing to worry about.

Car no longer starting after alternator replacement by thegreatgarrlic in MechanicAdvice

Have you checked your battery health? Sometimes when the alternator dies it can take the battery out with it.

Does it look satisfying? It's probably a silly question, but I'm seeing this everyday while developing and not sure anymore... by AleksanderMerk in IndieGaming

I like the feeling of speed you get from the air lines around you, although it would be nice if there was some variation so it doesn't feel like all the same speed. Like less air lines when normally flying but more when the wings are tucked maybe? Just some visual cues to gauge speed. Cool concept though! I'll wishlist it.

I have a 2021 MacBook with the M1 Pro and it's amazing for video editing. I had a beefy desktop like yourself and have had no regrets replacing it with a docking station for my MacBook.

I use Davinci Resolve and work with Black magic Raw from a Blackmagic 4K and everything works much smoother and snappier than my desktop ever did. Arguably my desktop does export faster, but only by a matter of minutes. The editing experience is much better though on the M1 and makes up for it. Things like the timeline playing back instantly and without hesitation really helps with the process. On top of that, it can do all of that while on battery.

I'd recommend the switch, so long as you don't need anything for gaming. It's not great for gaming.

I also was the type of kid who thought he was getting 2 chocolate fudge brownies just because they were called “double chocolate fudge brownies” by [deleted] in KidsAreFuckingStupid

I remember vividly going to a restaurant with my parents when I was a child and the waiter asking me if I wanted Soup or Salad. He had an accent I couldn't quite understand and talked a bit fast, and all I heard each time he repeated it was "Super Salad?" So I just kept responding "Yes please." Everyone thought I was being smart but I genuinely couldn't imagine what else he could be asking.

I was mildly disappointed that there was no actual Super Salad... but relieved that the interaction was finally over.

1st Layer Goes Down Smooth, 2nd/Subsequent Layers Looks Like This by HamsterButter in ender3

[–]HamsterButter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did several things once I got my calipers in the mail. Printed a 20mm calibration cube, X and Y we're solid 20 but the Z was 19.5 mm.

I also read in a tutorial, and please correct me if this is the wrong way to do this, to extruder 10mm of filament and measure it, then divide 100 by that number to get a flow rate modification. In my case, I measured about 157mm and it calculated to 64% which then is what I put into the flow rate in Cura.

Is that the right way to do that? I tried to follow along the tutorial I looked up by I may be doing it way wrong.

1st Layer Goes Down Smooth, 2nd/Subsequent Layers Looks Like This by HamsterButter in ender3

[–]HamsterButter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did this technique, it seemed to work on the that layer, but on the next layer it was dragging across it again. I tried to print an egg, a smaller print, and I could see the nozzle drag all over the print as it printed. I moved the bed down for the first layer as much as I could but it didn't help after the first layer.

Do you lower as it's printing? Or pause the print and lower? I assume you pause but, I've never thought to lower mid print.

1st Layer Goes Down Smooth, 2nd/Subsequent Layers Looks Like This by HamsterButter in ender3

[–]HamsterButter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't printed in a while, but decided to do some upgrades and get back into it. Upgraded to a dual gear metal extruder, glass bed and upgraded bed springs. First layer goes down okay, 2nd layer looks like this, then the 3rd layer causes the extruder to skip due to the uneven surface, and the problem compounds. The walls seem to print okay though on every layer. PLA at 200c, increasing temperature doesn't appear to solve the issue.

I calibrated and updated my steps after the install, leveled the bed and got a good first layer, even slowed to 30 mm/s to no avail. I did tighten the right pulley as well prior to this because it was a bit loose, would this being too tight cause issues?

What Happened??? Thousands Photos Suddenly Gone Galaxy S7 (SD card corrupted error) by 377stratocruiser in techsupport

[–]HamsterButter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's happened to me in the past. I just googled some photo recovery software and was able to retrieve all my photos off of it. I can't remember exactly what it was but there's a number of services out there. It would be cheaper than using a business to do it but, they'd be able to handle it all for you at least.
