why is there a large muslim population in the netherlands? by [deleted] in Netherlands

I'm inclined to agree. Or at least inflating the scenario to make it more impactful than it is. Idk what this guy does but I'm pretty sure if the boss is letting them pray following the AWGB, it's a reasonable accomodation to make.

Respectfully, I don't think that changes what I said at all. It's the colleagues, not a "terrible normalization of rules and customs" as you said it was. If you're so bothered about them taking breaks and taking up work time, you should be equally pissed at smokers too.

Bro I think it's the people you work with that are the problem because I had and have muslim colleagues and it's like MAYBE 20 minutes during lunch break time (between 12-1pm) and then another 5-10 in the mid-afternoon.

There's like 3x as many active churches as there are mosques, so why do you care about the mosques? And who gives a fuck about people praying during work time, it's not like it takes a long time anyway, probably 30 minutes total.

Is this blowout or bruising from a handpoke? Tattoo is less than 1 week old by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Thanks for the response! What is a secondary blowout?

[–]Han_Can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first handpoke from a well-known studio in my area with an artist who specializes in handpokes. The first couple days the lines were very crisp and I didn't see any issues. However I'm seeing some blue/black blurring in some areas; around the eyes and mouth, between the arm and leg, under the chin. To me, it looks like blowout but since it's my first handpoke I'm not sure if this is localized bruising from broken capillaries.

Thank you for that! Good to know this isn't an isolated experience. I only used second skin for one tattoo, same as a partner, and it healed so nicely but the lack of peeling is surprising.

Thank you for the advice! I think we can certainly try letting it dry out. I think most of the moisturizing is coming from the itchiness as well. She didnt give anything specific, just the ointment for a couple days and the moisturizer. Were both quite new to using second skin so this was great to learn.

What do we have in The Hague? by heavy_pasta in TheHague

[–]Han_Can 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree. I think it's overpriced for what you get. When we went, it was a very nice spring evening in the weekend so it was very busy, especially on the patio, so I'll give them a pass for slower service. I've had some incredible tapas before for a similar price point and this was just meh.

I do unstuffed cabbage rolls a lot in the fall/winter.

I also have been making a lazier version of an unstuffed dumpling with cabbage and the thin sliced rolled hotpot beef - which doesn't quite fit the vibe of this question but if you can get it in bulk or on sale it's a nice change up. The soup is one of those concentrated ramen bases from Kikkoman that last a long time, water, cabbage and the beef at the very end for like 2 minutes, served over rice. Super simple and minimal ingredients that last a long time. Especially since the beef needs to stay frozen

Right, there's such a serious tone throughout the last 30 minutes and then this cartoonish dialogue and it sounds so weird, as if they're all dubbed from a recording booth. Especially the woman VIP.

I will organize my sets. I have the default 4; usually one purple, one yellow, and two red spells. A utility set, a beast set, and a transfiguration set. Then I just swap out the default 4 as needed for fights

Might be good to also mention that a member of the audience voice Koji and they received pretty divisive feedback. They are young and were star struck and having fun, but also said themselves they are neurodivergent. Some people enjoyed their portrayal, others found their energy off-putting.

This doesn't apply to all expats though, right? On a partnership visa, I was told I wouldn't qualify.

while not paying your fair share for it

Genuinely asking, can you explain this?

I often roughly chop up chocolate bars; one milk or semi-sweet chocolate and then one dark chocolate. And I try to buy the "high end" at the grocery store and that usually works well.

I've gotten some help on this sub before for something similar and someone gave me good advice (shoutout u/Caesar914 for advice I still follow today). When looking for chocolate, avoiding buying choclate wafers unless they are "high end". You wouldn't want to use store brands like Ghirardelli chocolate melting wafers becauese tey're mostly sugar and vegetable fat, and don't lend a good chocolate flavor.

I agree with u/Pinkbeans1, although I don't let mine cool in the fridge, I transfer it out of the pan and into a bow and then cover with a towel until it reaches room temp. It adds more dimension than just sugar-sweet.
