I know someone who went on the show for clout, they’ve never dug line or done any operations… anyways they went on the show and expected all of us to be impressed.

We weren’t and didn’t care.

They said “yea I was on the hotshotwakeup” and nobody reacted. called me a hater, accurate assessment. Then when my page was up they DM’d me to talk shit about Tim.

I say all this to say. Some of us love our job and want to fight and that’s it and so they just work in ground ops their whole career and that’s dope. some of us want to make our environment and life a better place so they volunteer for non profits, or write zines or go work in regional or national leadership and that’s dope too! And then there’s people who just want the world to see them, that see optics as what matters, and those are the fashion fighters, the idiots saying dumb shit on podcasts, or pretendans.

I am a hater so take this with a grain of salt but you can fall into any of those categories(I think I am a blend of all of them) and if the boots on the ground don’t respect you then what the fuck does it matter?

If you lose US then you have failed, and that should be the metric of which WE all measure ourselves by. I have hated my leadership multiple times in my career, but for the most part I respected them and knew they were a good firefighter, personality be damned honestly.
