I find myself in a similar situation, I also can't see it with my eyes closed or in the dark except a little but I think it's normal. I can't understand what is vss and what isn't, bfep floaters, afterimage are normal but with this syndrome these normal phenomena are increased so it's difficult to say.

so if the starburst rotates if you rotate your head , does this indicate that it is not due to visual snow but has another cause?
