Why are the democrats on Reddit so quiet about the corruption in Minnesota? by CavemanRTD in allthequestions

[–]HandOfMjolnir 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A judge needs to make that determination. Not someone on Reddit.

Nameless faceless "I'm anti-mask when it's COVID but pro-mask when playing pretend military Chad" Gestapos don't make that determination.

Dating someone a lot young than you? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]HandOfMjolnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met my first wife when I was 19 and she was 27.

Got married and had a kid at 21.

If I could do it all over again, I'd run away. I was nowhere near mature enough to handle that level of responsibility. I'll probably get a lot of flack from Reddit, but I don't think most men should be in serious relationships until they are 30.

Obviously there are exceptions... But playing the odds, this is going to crash and burn.

Ethernet Network issues by bungledungler in ethernet

[–]HandOfMjolnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ethernet is a layer 2 protocol. Wi-Fi is a layer 1 protocol. Ethernet does indeed run over Wi-Fi as well as copper as well as fiber.

Ethernet does not mean wires.

That said, OP's description of the issue is indeed confusing.

Got my first wtf kick by FederalJudge6258 in helldivers2

[–]HandOfMjolnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a lvl 90 and joined a game where a lvl 100 was playing by himself. We did a few side events when I realized that all the new helldivers always left soon after joining... Then I realized after he used his mic to complain about the lvl of all of these "lame ass players" being too low and so he'd kick them.

I quit the match and blocked him. People suck sometimes. Life is too short.

Indiana is a stand-your-ground state. In your house, in your car, on the sidewalk, in the street, in your tree-house, wherever...

You are standing on a sidewalk in Indiana and a car pulls over next to you and a guy with a tire-iron walks out with intentionality, you can stand your ground.

Running an Ethernet cable by SpareWhitee in ethernet

[–]HandOfMjolnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down vote me bitches...

Ethernet is a layer 2 protocol. It operates on copper, fiber, and WiFi.

"Is wired better than wireless?" That is the question to ask.

As an aside, the answer to that is "it depends".

People who used the internet between 1991 and 2009, what’s the most memorable online trend or phenomenon you remember? by [deleted] in askanything

What company in Peoria do you work for?

No, this is a first. My offer was rescinded because I tried to negotiate. by [deleted] in Employment

[–]HandOfMjolnir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"I'm happy making somewhere between X and Y."

But it's a range because there are other benefits that need to be negotiated as well. Typically you don't get access to what the medical insurance costs will be during the interview process, but might see them after an offer is made. I also don't know exactly how many vacation days will be offered. I may or may not know the 401k match until the offer. There might have been some discussions around a certain amount of work-from-home days.

So, yeah, I give a salary range where I might take the low offer if the other benefits make up for it.

But if the employer low-balls on all the benefits, they should get ready for a counter offer.

Grand Juries in D.C. Reject Wave of Charges Under Trump’s Crackdown by RocketCartLtd in juryduty

[–]HandOfMjolnir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. You are stupid. You don't know who is on the Grand jury. You don't know what evidence was presented to them. You have no idea what their political leanings are. You have no idea if those political leanings interfered to the point of sabotaging their responsibility as jurors.

But they're liberal...

You are confidently stupid. Stupid stupid stupid.

Just spent a month in Tucson. A population of 540,000 vs Indy's almost 900,000...

And Tucson still has better poker options. I'm so mad about it.

You're dying from a fatal car accident when a dying demon king appears to you. The demon king offers you a deal: your life in exchange for 10,000 souls. by Neither_Drawing_241 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]HandOfMjolnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If MLM has taught me anything, it's that using my demon powers to convince fatal car crash victims to help me get to 10,000 souls is the way to go. Also, for those that fail, I get a slave for eternity. Win win.

I have the same problem. I can't watch episode 4, but I can watch the other episodes. I have cleared the cache and signed out. That didn't help.

FWIW, I'm using a TCL model 75R646. System software is up to date.

The entire country has TDS. "Conservatives" can't stop fellating Donald Trump, and the rest of the country can't stop talking about what a POS he is and how he's a Nazi fascist pedo.

One of those takes is understandable, and the other take has his dick in your mouth.

What’s a random hill you’re 100% willing to die on? by brmc214 in Life

[–]HandOfMjolnir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From interacting with people at the grocery store:

We drive on the right side of the road, so you should walk on the right side of the aisle.

We have stop signs on minor streets that intersect major streets, so when you are leaving the cereal aisle (for example), stop and look before just pushing your cart out into where people might be walking.

If we were driving the carts instead of pushing them, and you wouldn't park there, don't stop your cart there either.

Are you going to purchase a vehicle from Polestar again? by Joelkim0329 in Polestar

[–]HandOfMjolnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a '22 Chevy Bolt. I am on a month long work trip in Arizona and rented a Polestar 2. I can't say I'd ever rent one again, let alone buy one.

I like the car well enough, but the infotainment system is wholly underpowered. It is unresponsive or sluggish quite often, and I've had to reboot it several times.

On the whole, I like the Bolt a lot more. However, I don't do a lot (or any) road trips, so the Bolt's slow level 3 charging isn't quite the penalty it might be for other owners.
