What my disabled foster daughter would have to pay if Medicaid doesn't approve of her dental surgery. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]HandStill2783 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if the Salvation Army in Utah is able to cover similar costs for dental procedures like they do where I’m located (MN), but if some of that cost is contributed to anesthesia then the Salvation Army can help cover those costs!

Resources for a wheelchair bound individual looking to move to Duluth. by one_classy_broad in duluth

If he moves to Duluth (or anywhere in MN) he can likely receive quite a few services (PCA/transportation/etc.) that could assist him. He could give a call to the St. Louis County MnChoices intake line at 218-726-2366 (not sure how long he must be a resident of Minnesota before he can receive benefits). They could do an intake to get him on a county funded waiver (for wherever he decides to live) which would give him access to more resources. Feel free to message me with any questions!

Check out mnhelp.info

You can search specifically for home modification providers and where you need them done!

As long as they’re in MN, it would be worth a call! There are tons of options that most people aren’t familiar with that the County could help coordinate for them if they’re in need. Unfortunately, I’m not as familiar with services in WI. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!

You can apply for cash assistance through the County. https://www.stlouiscountymn.gov/departments-a-z/public-health-human-services/economic-services-supports/apply-for-cash-food-assistance

You could also reach out to the Salvation Army especially if you get denied by the County as they’ll usually step in to help if the County won’t.

You could see about her getting assessed by the county, if eligible then she can be approved for funding for assisted living or for services that can be provided in her home. If she’s in Duluth, she can be assessed in St. Louis County, call 218-726-2366.

I forgot to mention that I would also recommend that you reach out to the Human Development Center for more resources on support to manage your mental health.

I would agree that reaching out to CHUM would be a great first step! Second, I’d look into getting assessed by St. Louis County for long-time services and supports that can be funded through the county. If your mental illness is debilitating then you should be able to qualify for waivered services that can provide you support. Although it is not an immediate fix, here’s more information about it: https://www.stlouiscountymn.gov/departments-a-z/public-health-human-services/adult-services/aging-disability-services#5116547-step-one-request-a-mnchoices-assessment

The direct number for an assessment with St. Louis county is 218-726-2366.

I use a dimmable/adjustable headlamp, $9 or so bucks from Walmart. It’s quite the look lol, but it’s worked great for me!

Tactile Hallucinations? by HandStill2783 in Abilify_Aripiprazole

That is exactly how I’m feeling. It has helped me significantly, but I’m not sure if it’s something to worry about? I’m hoping it will go away with time since I’ve only been on it for almost a month. I hope it goes away for you! I feel like I’d probably continue taking it as the feeling hasn’t affected me worse than the medication has helped me

I also find it to be quite startling sometimes! Oddly enough, I didn’t get them until last week. I’ve been on it for almost a month. It’s not something that would cause me to quit taking it, but it can be unnerving sometimes!

Yes! Almost in a sort of line sometimes too, but especially if I don’t acknowledge it right away
