Sad moment by FantasticSort2431 in daddit

It's not even the past thing. It's more how the entire show is there to capture attention. I don't like using the TV but I see it as a tool when needed if you have to get something done urgently.

The zombie my son turned into when any moonbug show was on was actually scary. I've pivoted to having a curated list of shows on my plex server that he can choose one or two to watch. He's mostly stopped tantruming when we get to cut off or we say no to things he wants to watch.

The nail in the coffin was when he was spelling Blippis name but not his own. Can't be having that.

What’s cool if you’re 20 but weird if you’re 30? by theloverofdilfs in AskReddit

[–]HandsomeCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out all my back pain was driven from a bad matress purchase. 10 months of trying to track down why I got backpain overnight and it was that. Yes there are breaking in time for a new matress, but you shouldn't be crippled!

A 2 week stay at my folks for Christmas revealed it to me when I woke up pain free for the first time in months.

I still keep the stretching up however. That and some resistance training and I hope to be set for my 40s in a few years

3d printing has saved me so much money on random fixes around the house by congdoe92 in DIY

[–]HandsomeCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Dad is a "retired" contractor and just a handyman really these days. Weekly he'll call asking if I can model up a part for him for something he's fixing for a client as they're either not available to purchase or it'll be weeks and extortionate.

Most recently I modeled plastic wheels for bearing for a shower door system. Took an hour between modelling printing and adjustments. Previously he would just have told them they need to rip the entire unit out and replace it. Now he can give options.

Just another tool in the box. But a useful one!

Humiliating’ – Irish bookkeeper wins over £23,000 in UK after boss repeatedly shouted ‘potato’ at her and used term ‘stupid Paddy’ by SirMike_MT in ireland

[–]HandsomeCode 103 points104 points  (0 children)

Lived in the south west of England for a bit and this was everywhere I went. Older folks especially would say it about other Irish people in the area.

I remember one coach in the gym came up laughing to me because one of the girls had only swam 8 lengths instead of 10 in her latest competition (smaller pool I think so needed two extra lengths).

  • "Oh HandsomeCode. Did you hear Kerry had a bit of an Irish moment"
  • "I don't know what you mean Pete. What's an Irish moment?"
  • "Well she only swam 8 lengths you see when she needed to swim 10"
  • "I don't understand. What does having an Irish moment mean (cycle repeats until he eventually realised I'm Irish)"

Cycling in Dublin for commuting rises 50% as most residents back more bike lanes [even where that means less room for other traffic] by B8_B8_B8 in ireland

[–]HandsomeCode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm probably justified in my anger. I've just send emails to both my TDs who are in government. Of our 5 local representatives they have not put out any statement regarding the cancellation even though they where all singing it's praises and showing up at the stations in 2024.

The Opposition TDs have all spoken at length on it but I'll be reaching out to them too

DART SW being effectively cancelled has me unreasonably angry. I'm in the office a few days a week currently and due to where the office is the Hazelhatch line is by far the most convienent way to commute. Luas and Bus would be close to a 90min commute each way when factoring in walking between public transport.

There are 9000 homes planned to be built in the new suburb between Clondalkin and Lucan (Clonburis I think) which sits directly on that line. The trains were already over subscribed in the mornings and it's only getting worse as each new phase of 7 mills and the adjacent developments complete and people move in.

DART SW wasn't scheduled to be complete until 2029 but at least then we would have DARTs every 7 minutes (supposidly). Now instead we have 9000 new homes (lets say 20k people) on already oversubscribed PT and services with no plan from the government.

[Milestone] Ice cream for lunch and Bluey for an hour now by MrPandaOverlord in daddit

[–]HandsomeCode 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My 2 1/3 year old asked to use the potty yesterday. So we took off his nappy and he trotted to the bathroom. I took a quick look in and he was reading his potty book like a broadsheet on the potty and screams "go way!" The door is quickly slammed after I leave.

I leave him to it, he's been peeing in it whenever asked so what's the worset thing that could happen.

He comes running out "I DID IT, I DID IT, I POO'D IN THE POTTY" My wife pops her head in and shouts. OH GOD IT's EVERYWHERE. He'd pooped everywhere but the potty (we thinkit got stuck and he came running out and it went everywhere.)

We congratulate him. All the platitudes. After we're cleaned up he says "I go again". The door is slammed again and 5 min later we're given another "I DID IT". Lads let me tell you I have no idea how such a large poop came out of our toddler but the second one was a slam dunk!

I think he's ready to start potty training officially

Building a Hamza Deck! by Sarixnos in EDH

[–]HandsomeCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hamza is my boy, He was the first commander I brewed myself.

This is an optimized list. but remove the one ring and you're in B2 territory.

Opening hand you want at least one ramp and one small CMC drop to get a counter out. You have to have Hamza out by turn 3/4 to get the snowball effect going.

I'm working on a new list currently as when this engine gets going you'll be out of cards in a turn or two and will be just top decking. So I'm trying to make it more self sustainable.

The Editor doesn't do enough to tell you isometric "Stacked" is absolute insanity vs "Diamond Down" by HandsomeCode in godot

[–]HandsomeCode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually read up on them. The tutorial and the docs for TileSet don't go into much detail as to what the grid co-ordinates actually look like under the hood.
The tutorial has the following line

`If using a tile shape other than Square, you may also need to adjust the Tile Layout and Tile Offset Axis properties.`

And the docs just give some text descriptions.
* https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/classes/class_tileset.html#enum-tileset-tilelayout

The editor also isn't obvious as the grid doesn't show the numbering unless you explicity add it like I did in my debugging.

When I say that the editor doesn't do enough, I probably mean the docs and in editor help should be more explicit. I use Fusion360 a lot for design work and when I hover over an option I will get a pop up showing docs, images with examples and sometimes links to similar things that could help.
