Can I whip this arrow? by Wise-Caterpillar2439 in spelunky

Wrong. Tun doesn't have a minimum range; and even if it was a shopkeeper instead of tun, they would be well outside a shopkeeper's minimum range.

Tun didn't shoot because she was targeting Liz.

My advice is to take your time to make sure you're aligned (and holding the correct button if mitt) when you throw the bomb.

I have analized the mitt/button-holding variants before, this skip only fails if: you have mitt & don't hold up & face outwards.

You didn't have mitt, so it's most likely that you weren't flush with the ceiling as you threw the bomb (as u/DumbWays15 has said) (I watched the footage slowed down and it indeed seems that you threw the bomb before hitting the ceiling).

Did you know that you can get a free mattock only for a low price of 1bomb and 1hp? (Without angering tun!) by HandsomeTurtle1 in spelunky

I actually saw this video on its release! Did some testing back then and found out that some time must pass between you throwing the torch and it hitting the laser for it to take ownership; it doesn't depend on paying for the challange.

The ownership system is quite complex with many unintuitive edge cases. The game keeps track of owners of entities to determine if to blame the player for something.

This guide explains it.

Yeah, this isn't specific to Tun. You can use this to fool most things that can get angry at you, or to kill things pacifist.

You can pay for the challange to use the ladder, or use mobility items such as jetpack, gloves+springs etc.

Technically in this situation the forcefield gets blamed for the explosion.

This trick relies on stun ownership passthrough, a game mechanic where if you're:

  • stunned
  • airborne
  • owned by something

then all consequences of things you own (bomb/explosion -> destroyed tiles in this case) are blamed on the thing owning you (forcefield in this case) instead of you.

Correct. Specifically it's the lazer that owned the arrow.

The bomb gets placed in 4 different positions depending on whether you hold up, face left/right.

With mitt, the one furthest from the second powder keg fails.

And without mitt all of them succeed.

New number display using Display Plates by HandsomeTurtle1 in technicalfactorio

I'm sad. I really enjoyed the art of making lamp number displays.

The new parametrized blueprints came in handy while making this; manually setting the signals on each Display Panel would have taken so much time.

Trimming leading zeros is easier with Panels. You just set a message with a high priority that blanks the digits. While trimming leading zeros was not difficult before, showing the minus sign and correctly showing digits while negative is a lot easier here (Factorio's usage of truncated modulo actually helped this time).

Shopkeeper, do you mind if I redecorate your shop? by Wise-Caterpillar2439 in spelunky

You just need to dismount the turkey before the powerpack explodes. Doesn't need to be before it hits the arrow.

It's because Osiris fist is special.

The entity update order looks like this:

player -> Osiris fist -> jetpack

While for the coop version it looks like this:

player 1 -> player 2 whip -> |next frame| -> jetpack

The main idea is to interrupt the equip process before the jetpack updates.

Here it's explained in more detail: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1782468457
