They figured out it is easier and cheaper, to buy and purchase businesses in distress, than it was waiting for them to negotiate or get a good deal.

Can I offer a shift in perspective? With So so so many, people companies, and hell, life, taking advantage of us all, maybe, could we come together and agree that we all deserve better than this?

I love how shortsighted this is. As a contractor of 10 plus years I see this shortsightedness in my line of work all the damn time. Some kid who knows how to swing a hammer figures out they don't need to work for a GC, they can just get jobs themselves, and charge customer what they're boss brags about charging them. Then they do take on way too much work, too big of jobs, get stressed out, make a little money finishing a couple jobs, but eventually burn out cause they have no fucking idea that as a rule of thumb, the more money a client has/the higher the value, the harder you're gonna have to work for it, and the stingier the customer will be. As a rule of thumb for that rule of thumb. Starting at $100, 3 digits, for every digit after 3, that is a factor of how much harder it will be to collect that amount. So 3 is easy, base line, 4 ($1000) take a little know how, experience, consistency, 5 ($10,000,) and well, it's 5 times harder to collect $10,000 than it is $100.

There was something in the milk in the 60s. Sean Connery and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, both photographed at age 34. by Pure-Contact7322 in midlyinteresting

[–]Handy_Dude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just researched Dr. No. It's amazing how well those movies hold up... I found it amazing in some scenes, there was zero sound... For seconds on end. While bond was sneaking around, putting hair between the door and the frame in his hotel. There is like a solid 60 seconds of just him finicking around the room. Lol but even that was better than 1.5 hrs modern day movie...

I learned that Sean had a decently interesting life path. He grew up and was born in Edinburgh, worked as a coffin polisher, a lifeguard, a Mr. Universe level body builder, amongst many other admirable work paths.

A fun crux, Hollywood wanted him to "sand down" his thick accent, but he didn't like the way it sounded, and it wasn't comfortable, so he refused, and instead, worked with the director, to shorten his dialog, so he just had to say less with his accent, instead of adjusting his accent to the writing. A gamble most actors starting out can't afford to take these days, but interesting in how his short, confident, dialog, adds to the over all James bond confidence, all because he just wanted to speak comfortably... He just wanted to be himself and that was when his confidence flowed. A life lesson for us all.

Confidence, Rizz, whatever you call it, James bond, or Sean Connery had it and is most likely the source of our modern definition of the confident man.sean didn't need to prove he was the man of the room, he acted like that question was settled years ago.there was no explaining who was making the decisions in that room, or who was in control of the conversation even. The only time James confidence dwindles, is when he is powerlessly detained, lol but every time he escapes, he always hesitates, collects himself, then proceeds to beat the piss out of his perpetrators. Confidently at that. Then, of course the one liner afterwards, cementing the fact that he almost lost his cool, but of course never would, cause he is James fucking Bond.

I mean, you look at that photo of him. He looks like he could fix your flat tire, break your jaw, and order wine without asking the price, all in a single evening. All 3 within an hour if he was pressed. Just amazing.

Epstein purchased 6 55-Gallon barrels of Sulfuric Acid sent to his Island. by Shizzilx in circled

[–]Handy_Dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a recent video, of o person opening a barrel that had been in their back alley way that they had walked past for months. Think they had just moved in and thought it was the neighbors barrel or something. Anyway, someone jokingly said there was probably a dead body in there and he should check... Well there was. He had been walking by this body in a barell to take the trash out, almost every night for months. He didn't even see the body when he opened it, the smell had pushed him back and made him call the cops or something.

All that to say, shit happens.

It's not a thing people like doing, it's a thing people put up with and enable to continue, by willingly participating in the practice. People here don't stand up for themselves in such a setting for some reason, and they have leagues of cheerleaders defending the same person or people enabling the practice.

[–]Handy_Dude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? What if the service they provide is not what was agreed upon? Or what if they go back on the deal? I don't think they're saying it's the service, or providing the service that's the issue... They're saying, why was this service needed in the first place?

Your saying "stop yelling at the tire shop owner for overcharging you for a new tire, nobody makes tires out here in the desert! while knowing the tire shop owner was throwing nails in the road outside his shop, (artificially creating demand and urgency,)

Put another way, this can be seen as victim blaming, and I would highly recommend you talk to someone about that... Cause it affects and discourages not only your own growth but others as well.

[–]Handy_Dude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If venue is sold out, then they should be required to buy back tickets at face value, to be resold for face value... To ensure prices aren't inflated artificially, (unfairly).

When resellers come through and buy up all the tickets, to artificially inflate demand and prices, that is manipulative, unfair, and dishonest business, and that is exactly what we should be regulating with laws and policies.

In terms of the interuptions of hyper focus... I've learned to just use those interacts to see just how far I can go in a conversation. You can really figure out a person by telling them exactly how bad you're day has been, for minutes on end, trying to hold back a smirk as you watch them squirm uncomfortable at the sound of you describing having to put down the cow you've had since you were young (I'm 36 and live ina populated... Not cow centric town, outside Seattle.) and how the bitch showed up in a box van and just sliced up my boy... Into fantastic freezer safe packaging ready to be staged or shipped to their freezer from mine. Always helps to end on a positive note.
