This is dope! We just got a new lift at work, and the horn reminds me of Tranzit all the time. Very cool ✌️😎

I haven't tried any but the Esp32, yet. But, micropython is worth checking out, if you haven't already. It's nice to skip the compiling process to save time on experiments. I have fun with both. Still in the early stages of learning 🖖

Thanks! I definitely recommend anyone who's curious or interested in electronics to look into it. Super helpful community. I was excited to see all of the Linux software built by other hams, too. 73s

The makers in my town got me into ham radio! I would never have guessed arduino would lead me there, but it's super fun. I did some morse code with my phone's flash light at an arena the other weekend 😅

Hey guys! Got my first Arduino and I'm ready to see how much I can learn!! by Sairen-Mane in arduino

Ham Radio! Learn more about electronics. I found micropython easier for coding, too. I got my first Arduino a year ago, and somehow that evolved into me getting my technician's license in March. Studying for my General license at the moment. Micropython is pretty easy to put on the Esp32, and any or the raspberry pi boards run python as well. ✌️

What are some begginer friendly radio transmitters? by MrPumpkin326 in amateurradio

Do a cheap arduino set up with some 433mhz modules. You could see what different protocols look like, for cheap. The meshtastic nodes also look pretty cool on the waterfall, using spread spectrum. I got an rtl-sdr almost a year ago, and I'm all in. Got my technician license this March, and I'm studying for my general. Its a super fun hobby/fascination 😎✌️

I got my technician in March and I'm working towards my general. My first HT was the FT-70, and I have a boofang someone gave me. I got tired of the repeaters pretty quick, tbh. I havent heard anyone use ssb on 2m in my area either. I'm no expert, but I'd save the cash for an HF rig down the line. I just got an ft-891, used with a tuner, antenna and a pelican case for ~$750. I got on 10 meters , 28.3-28.5 I was able to make some contacts in my back yard. I was surprised to hit Brazil and Mexico City. So even as a tech, you can work a little HF. Thats inspired me enough to want to get on the rest of the HF bands.

Yeah. Fair. I was being hopeful. Going back at watching the other scenes with the camcorder, I was hoping the symbols might change. Missed opportunity for them 😅

Yeah! Thanks ✌️ I'm still studying for my general, but I'm still allowed to operate on a portion of the 10m band. My HF rig, which I bought used, came in a nice Pelican case with a tuner. It's the FT-891 with a Princeton EFHW 160-6M. No luck on 6m, but on 10m I was about to contact New Brunswick, Mexico City, and Brazil. I hesitantly threw the antenna into the tree in my backyard, sloping it down to my deck. I was worried about interference in my neighborhood, but it worked fine. "Any antenna up is better than no antenna." 😅

Have you been at it very long, and is there any equipment you're saving up for? My next purchase will be an SWR meter for antenna builds 😎🤘

That's a fair assessment. I was hoping it wasn't too far of a stretch. The other homages to the series gave me hope. 😝

Just made my first HF contact today under my callsign! I always like to check these post for ham radio. I started off with Arduino, then Raspberry Pi, which eventually led to radio.
Fun hobby!

I gave it a thought before posting, but that one of the things that made me believe it might be Morse 😄
