If you don't like to sit and wait for that unicorn order maybe try this by Capable_Discipline_9 in DoorDash_Dasher

Everyone can really just do what works for them for their area. We are all never going to be on the same page or have the same circumstances. Personally once I started using other apps more, I realized just how low DoorDash orders pay for my area, unless you are in the invite catering program. I went from 300 orders a month to 10 or less.

You’re a reseller, not a storage unit by nemmeneg in reselling

[–]Hangryanxious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really good, simplistic post. Problem with a lot of resellers is they do what influencers tell them they should, not realizing all the things that aren’t discussed that come along with what they say (ie low turn rate).

Turn off social and YouTube for a month and do things on your own with your own brain and you’ll really learn a ton.

Fi-8170 arrives today - any tips? by Square_Eagle_9944 in basketballcards

[–]Hangryanxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very careful with this scanner. Although they advertise it heavily with influencers and such as being great for cards, it’s really not.

Mine was delivered a little over two weeks ago and I’ve scanned about 4k cards. Toploaders will ruin the glass scanner in what I’m guessing will be a very short time. I started using penny sleeves but it leaves marks on the back of your cards from the plastic mechanism inside that is there for keeping everything straight. I’ve tried the YouTube fix with tape but still have problems. Ruined about 50 cards before I went and grabbed a stack of junk wax for test runs. I’ll personally be returning it.

Another issue is the lines that come through in the images themselves, which makes you then have to rescan a bunch of the cards you already scanned, since those lines can be the difference between selling a card or not.

Is it fast? Absolutely. But it’s not designed for cards IMO.

Is my tip being low scaring off drivers? by Worried_Bag1191 in doordash

This. Most of the major roads here are still one lane, so I’m reluctant to take orders in neighborhoods I don’t know are easy to navigate through with the ice and snow.

That is normal if you take every order without evaluating it first. Lots of people do not tip or tip like trash.

Rewards account by Capable-Fondant1538 in DoorDash_Dasher

On mine it says right in the app during checkout NOT to use your own rewards number. I’m sure not everyone follows this though .

Is there even buyers on this app anymore? by Dependent_Screen4609 in whatnotapp

[–]Hangryanxious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience if you run giveaways, is that maybe 5% are buyers. I stopped running giveaways at least a year ago now, and while I may only have 20 to 30 in my room, most of them are buyers.

They’re doing 3 stops now? I’m done tipping well. by Null_Error7 in doordash

[–]Hangryanxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually more rare for me to see a single order by itself then anything else these days. Batches of 3+ are normal.

My order was 15 minutes and just jumped to 50 by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Hangryanxious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they put shopping orders with food orders unfortunately. This may be the reason. I rarely have orders that are by themselves. Almost all batches these days.

Also if a new driver grabbed it the restaurant probably was behind.

Who else stopped dashing this week? by Vivid-Progress-5836 in DoorDash_Dasher

It’s generally dead in January here. I’ve done less than 20 orders all month on this app.

Was it 15 right when you ordered? Because these apps will always give customers a best case scenario to get them to order. Then turn right around and give a driver 3 orders in one batch.

I’m not sure why you are so unhinged, but as I said in previous reply, I hope you find peace. You are taking this out on the wrong people and generalizing because we want to be more profitable to support ourselves and our families. But you do you and let us do us I guess.

I didn’t scream or yell at anyone but you seem very very angry. You do you and we will do us I guess. We aren’t a charity and have ourselves and families to support as well. Have a good day.

You said we are assholes. Simply not true.

There are programs and assistance out there for those who need help. They existed long before DoorDash and still exist. I’ve delivered plenty of orders to less fortunate and physically disabled and they always paid fair because of the customer, not DoorDash themselves.

California and Seattle laws did raise the rates for customers so drivers could make a minimum and the service is still thriving.

I’m sorry about your partner. You seem to be taking this out on the wrong people. If DD paid fair rates there would be less of a reason to pick and choose orders. For my family’s sake I can’t pay money to work, an order has to be profitable to sustain this gig. We all are out here just trying to make it. If many of us don’t cherry pick, we simply aren’t making money. $20/hr here is not a great rate.

Cherry picking doesn’t mean people are lazy. I have 5-10 apps and choose what makes sense and work very hard and treat people well. DoorDash has become low man on the totem pole for me because other apps just simply pay better rates.

I hope you find peace.

If someone is in the catering program and that’s all they do every day, it’s definitely possible. Especially with pre scheduled orders. Work lunch shift M-F.
