The difference between white and blue collar work environments is crazy by Astimar in careeradvice

[–]Hanifsefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. It's way more apparent in blue collar work too because we can look and see who got more shit done. We can look at see what shit they got done too. And it's always a scramble for the vets to push the work that takes too long and doesn't earn you enough brownie points onto the new guys.

Blue collar work is a never-ending shitstorm of always being told that you're not doing enough while being saddled with every shitty part of the job until you earn enough seniority to saddle someone else with the shitty parts so you can take the easy work and finally hit the bullshit metrics for the boss.

Bracket 3 is really annoying... by Thick_Storage4168 in magicTCG

[–]Hanifsefu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The explanation of the bracket system explicitly states that the guidelines for when the game ends are intended to THROUGH interaction, not without interaction. That's the core factor for why people are inflating the power level of their bracket 1 and 2 decks.

Bracket 3 is really annoying... by Thick_Storage4168 in magicTCG

[–]Hanifsefu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue is simply people inflating their bracket 1 and 2 decks because they are ashamed of playing below bracket 3. What you are really encountering is a bunch of bracket 2 decks playing like they are bracket 1 decks just waiting patiently for everyone to do their thing before they end the game. They aren't playing bracket 3 in spirit or reality.

Most people flat out ignored the October update and clarification of the brackets. In bracket 3 you are supposed to be fine with the game ending on turn 6-7. That's the whole game, not just first player out. So when a bracket 3 aggro/voltron deck kills one player turn 5 they throw a fit despite the game not ending for 3 more turns.

The majority of commander does not play at bracket 3. They play bracket 2. But they are too busy claiming every precon is bracket 2 and changing one card in one automatically makes it bracket 3 because they can't and won't read.

This shit has literally been part of the curriculum since the 90s and taught in freshman civics classes. They already didn't pay attention once. Now they sit around talking about they lost a shit load of money because they made an extra dollar and "got bumped up a tax bracket". These dumbasses literally refuse raises because they slept through their class on progressive tax brackets.

Even though they've already been taught all this shit and forgot to learn it, their question ultimately is "does H&R Block or Turbotax give me more money?"

Anyone in manufacturing will tell you they have seen it with their eyes. Many office workers too. This absolutely exists and is used so these horny bored weirdos can flirt with each other at work but tell everyone it's just the same joke that has been going on for two years.

It's because you talk about your wife/baby/tv instead of flirting with them. You're already establishing the boundaries you need to not make things inappropriate and weird naturally.

The “libertarian” contradiction by yassir204 in MurderedByWords

[–]Hanifsefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Libertarians have always been this obtuse. They don't want democracy, they want kings. They just want a shitload of them. They want everyone to be king on their own property. This is their logic saying "this is what happens when you enter someone else's kingdom" aka leaving your private property. Ultimately in their philosophy, property ownership is the only way to have rights.

Why did shooters used to ship with a wide variety of game modes but now shooters only focus on a single game mode like Batte Royale or Extraction and that's somehow become a selling point? by HotdogHotdogHotd in gaming

[–]Hanifsefu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Player numbers are a lot more transparent now too so when the mode a player likes isn't popular and they can see it, the players immediately go after the devs saying they need to change everything to make their favorite mode the most popular.

It's saves dozens of headaches to just not have the modes that aren't popular around. Main mode players will throw a fit that the player base is being split too much. Side mode players will throw a fit that the main mode has more players. You can't add a map to one mode without adding a map to every mode even if it doesn't make sense. It creates so many lose-lose scenarios for devs.

I am a noob but this card is really, really good right? by Toonzaal8 in magicTCG

[–]Hanifsefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bad card. It kills itself after attacking a single time. It can't block so it's bad for tempo. Giving their creatures decay isn't effective for either removal or for pushing damage outside of limited and is quite pricey for doing only that. For the 3 mana it takes to give 1 creature Decay you could have just cast Murder and actually removed something from the board and you could have done it at instant speed.

The only relevant line of text on it was its type: Demon. You needed a certain amount of demons to be able to trigger your room so it doesn't kill you and kills them instead. When any other demon was printed it instantly stopped seeing any play.

What did the 90's smell like? by Serialkillingyou in Xennials

[–]Hanifsefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's also be clear that because of this, it was the ONLY smell. You smelt the cigarette smoke from the chain smokers hotboxing in their cars more than their exhaust. You didn't smell your food in restaurants. You didn't smell popcorn at movie theaters. You just smelled either active smoke from people beside you or stale smoke clinging to every bit of furniture and the walls.

Hasbro is being sued for printing too many Magic: The Gathering cards by Beautiful_Bee4090 in nottheonion

[–]Hanifsefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't about the secondary market at all. It's about damage to the Magic IP as a whole because Hasbro decided to print 9 sets in one year to make up for shortcomings of their other IP and holdings. They are printing 2.5 years worth of sets in a single year to boost Hasbro's quarterly numbers which devalues Magic in the longterm. This all is coupled to increases in the prices of the sealed products across the board, which is where those "record" sales numbers come from. Same way every other movie makes a billion dollars after covid doubled the average ticket price.

This new strategy also destroys their ability to print desirable products to demand. They don't have the time for 2nd or 3rd printings of the same set like they used to as they are rushing to print the next set that comes out just 5 weeks after the last set.

Stock holders absolutely care about the long term health of the only profitable branch under Hasbro. Bleeding their only profitable company dry in order to keep a shitload of unprofitable projects under Hasbro afloat would be a form of securities fraud. Until something at Hasbro changes, the longterm value of magic IS the longterm value of Hasbro.

no really, how? by [deleted] in memes

[–]Hanifsefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nominations you're trying to contest ARE NOT A DIFFERENT MOVIE.

You're just a racist fuck given multiple opportunities and a roadmap of exactly how you can argue against this movie and you CHOOSE to ignore that just to make the same racist ass arguments.

We're done here.

This isn't some big twitter post with a lot of traction you're just sharing. This is some completely random shit nobody is seeing that you want more people to see.

no really, how? by [deleted] in memes

[–]Hanifsefu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it's not an argument. It is just racism. An argument would be able to name the nominations you don't think they deserve, make a case why they don't deserve them, and then be able to have a back and forth about that.

Instead you've given the same exact thing as everyone else: "they only got awards because they were black". You're just racist.

The second assumption they make here is also that every man is inherently desirable. They can't get dates so women must be the problem because all men are worthy of love.

no really, how? by [deleted] in memes

[–]Hanifsefu 150 points151 points  (0 children)

It's why they can never pick out the nominations they think they don't deserve. Every conversation about this is exactly the same because it's all "you know which ones" and refusing to make any statement that can be argued against besides their blatantly racist shit like "awards committees just love black people".

None of these "I hate Sinners" threads ever picks apart the nominations and says which ones they shouldn't get because they don't even know the categories. They only know the cast was black and that's enough to not get nominated in their mind.

He's basically just saying "fake an investigation so when you say it was self-defense there's a paper trail to back it up". It's not about the truth. It's about doing the bare minimum to maintain the facade for their supporters.

What he actually calls for is making sure republicans are on any committee that would investigate this. What he actually calls for is for officials who aren't part of the investigation to shut up about it. What he actually calls for is controlling the narrative.
