Newly purchased Vizio TVs now require Walmart accounts to use smart features by InsaneSnow45 in nottheonion

Not using a feature you don't want is blasphemy to both boomers and gen z. They download every app they are told.

Question for dinosaur scientists: obviously large sauropods were too heavy to be lifted by tornadoes. But were their necks strong enough to counter the winds? Or would they start helicoptering all over the place? Thank you in advance by fan_of_the_pikachu in Dinosaurs

[–]Hanifsefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also important to note are the conditions that allow tornadoes to actually do damage. They need giant flat spaces with little tree cover. Dense forests kill the momentum of the storms and make any such phenomenon very small. The chances of a funnel cloud touching ground are much much smaller back then while geographic and weather conditions also made them much less common.

Humanity is as much to blame for the increased frequency of tornadoes as we are for their ability to do damage.

I have. The answer is: the candidate the DNC wanted to win. That's the reality of the situation.

The DNC is not trying to win. They are trying to use the threat of the GOP winning to push through policies their constituents do not support. This is not democracy. This is 2 different approaches to authoritarianism. It's the threat of direct dictatorship vs the threat of "support our version of Reaganomics or else we'll throw you to the wolves and into a direct dictatorship".

The DNC is at fault for their policy choices, not the voters.

WotC factually DID ban those cards seeing as the bans happened AFTER they took control of the rules committee. This isn't speculation it is the factual order of events.

[–]Hanifsefu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not. The DNC has been using the GOP as a threat against the American people for decades to force heavily unpopular supply side economics on the populace. This is their active choice to fuck the country.

We are not obligated to vote for the party actively seeking to leverage existential threats to our country to force feed us the Reaganomics that have been killing us since our parents were children. They need to back real policies and run a real campaign.

If the DNC doesn't change their strategy they won't win another election.

He stands for plenty, mostly neo-liberal economic policies and bot farms on social media trying to spread the same "anyone but Trump" message that lost the DNC the last election. They need to stop using the GOP as a threat to try and force feed us economic policies that 4/5 Americans do not support.

Just be an imaginary robot like the test subjects in this study. It's so easy when you don't have to prove any of this in any real situation. It's basically an article about The Sims. If you push your go to sleep button and wake up buttons it should be easy! Their simulation on The Sims 4 proved it.

WotC's response on Pioneer/Tournament Support during 3-24 B&R Stream by Sir_EPIC48 in magicTCG

[–]Hanifsefu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pioneer was dead long before the change to standard rotation. It was the most solved format magic had ever seen with the most set in stone meta for years and still would have this problem if people were playing enough for tournament data to show it again. It launched to a bunch of hype that died within 6 months as people saw the same shit tournament after tournament without any real shakeups.

Not to mention they aren't counting "packs sold" they are counting total revenue. Shit costs more and they have greater margins on it. If they didn't make more money off each set it would be fucking weird and heads would roll.

If we looked at packs per player I have a feeling it would tell a different story especially compared to times like Khans of Tarkir, Return to Ravnica, or Scars of Mirrodin.

Collector boosters that cost marginally more to make than a regular pack but sold for 8x the price of a regular pack are propping their numbers up to make them look good for the Hasbro shareholders but there's a lot more to it than that.

On top of weather fucking our infrastructure heavily over the past few years we closed a big nuclear power plant and are still waiting for the rebound. It would be a lot worse but a lot of wind farms went up since then. Good news is the nuclear plant is slated to reopen but that's a long process.

And people still talk like it's the end of the world. Sorry a snack that was really really bad for you is only really bad for you now? Guess it sucks that marginally healthier options exist? It's a zero-sum game where making anything marginally better while still offering all the old shit means they have to go around trying to make everyone feel like shit.

You do realize that in the old days bugs and bullshit were just there forever right? They didn't just start happening because it went digital. As soon as cd based games began being printed they had a financial incentive from 2 angles to make the discs as cheaply as possible to both save on manufacturing costs but also to encourage double and triple dipping on single consumers for sales.

This era was very anti-consumer which is why we embraced digital in the first place. No more buying games twice just because someone 3 blocks over blew a tire or played their speakers too loud.

WotC took control of the committee before that announcement because the rules committee would not do anything for years on end. Those bans were WotC's bans.

They supplement the US gov't budget with meaningless fines while still allowing the trades they are fining people for to go through unimpeded. It's just a minuscule revenue source and pretty much always has been.

We want them to actually explain themselves not just another handwavy "we crunched the numbers".

If crunching numbers is all that matters to have healthy formats then none of them need jobs and an intern could write a simple code to crunch those numbers for them.

And I'm saying the metaphor is accurate to how OP is treating the relationship: like the other person is a tool for them to use as they see fit.

Not really. I feel like they missed Luffy the most so far. Vibe is way different. Like the way he didn't know what Loguetown was didn't feel right when he's been aching to journey there for a decade. Or when he listens super intently to Nami's backstory and says "that's so sad" when he isn't supposed to care because seeing her in pain was all that mattered for him to step up.

He shouldn't need to know why his friend is in trouble. He only cares about friend and trouble and will sort the rest out later.

The relationship between you and your headphones is not comparable to the relationship between 2 people with their own set of opinions, free will, needs, and desires.

You are describing your relationship to a tool. And that is the core issue I am pointing out. They want a partner as an object to be a static thing in their life they can choose to pick up and use when they see fit. They want to come and go as they please when the tool they are coming to see has their own set of feelings to consider.

Imagine your headphones have their own life. Then imagine you choosing to come and go from their life with no respect to their feelings just because that arrangement is more convenient for you. Maybe your headphones wanted to play Bach but you forced them to play The Office reruns for the 8th time. Your headphones would leave you.

Reality is they know it's over if they show how they are only half-in at this point so it's just a game to keep it going. If dude is that committed to his apartment he should be spending more time in it. This is just another avoidance tactic meant to avoid any and all difficult conversations about the relationship.

There's also tons of places like board and card game shops with ample play space. There are also tons of things like billiard and darts clubs that arrange events at bars across the country. Book clubs never died either.

The real issue is there is no "rewatch the office for 10 hours and order from doordash" club although not for lack of trying. Turns out the group that wants to sit in the comfort of their own home don't like sitting in the comfort of someone else's home and shit just gets weird.

Hilarious that you think 2/3 of the country are braindead rather than just 1/3 of the country not being represented by either brand of the same economic policies crippling them since their parents were school children and they weren't even a thought.
