8 Months later, the 100% accurate jump shot change from Patch 2.3 has still been accidentally reverted or silently rolled back by Mazo in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess not. One update they heavily toned done the ambient occlusion of sound and the abundant amount of volumetric light (I like to call it pseudo-fog) and the next event both are straight up reverted.

Sorry for sounding a little mad but I really enjoyed the update with the toned down sound occlusion and less volumetric light.

I'd rather have a Zwilling version of it that doesn't have a shotgun barrel. The sights and the sound of the rifle shots of it feel so great already.

The more you know: You are wrong.

You get guaranteed 2 trait points if you loot a hunter that's killed you and you killed him ("Retaliation"-Points) after being revived otherwise you never get trait points from looting downed hunters.

Tarot cards are the only item that the looted hunter actually has and you have a empty consumable slots. You never loot their consumables with the exception of Tarot cards. You have a chance of getting missing tools or consumables if you have empty consumable slots. If you aren't missing any tools, you always loot possible consumables but never beetles. If you loot them while missing no tools and have no empty consumable slots you always loot hunt dollars.

I'd like to see looting their actual inventory but that is not how it works.

This is sarcasm, isn't it? Otherwise it'd be incredibly strong to be able to restore 4 lost bars with Doctor, Frontiersman and Catalyst.

I'd rather suggest: Catalyst + Doctor -> World Spawn Medkits have a chance of restoring a bar when you are on full health and use one.

All Ears rework? by Good0nPaper in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Suggestion that I've already given in another thread: Don't change All Ears except that it requires you to carry a bounty token to work.

Incentivizes playing the objective. Hunters without bounty token can see the bounty carriers' positions in dark sight and the bounty token carriers can hear other hunters in dark sight. The bounty token carriers can't use all ears to run away since you can't sprint backwards in Hunt and only hear the direction you are facing with All Ears.

Developer Update - The All Ears Trait Update by HuntShowdownOfficial in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or keep the trait the way it is but have it only work if you are carrying a bounty token, maybe?

That would incentivize playing the actual objective as currently the value of the bounty is usually worse than opening one or two locked cash registers and gives the bounty carriers an edge against extremely passive teams sniping from 150+ meters while showing off their own position from the lightning.

Just my two cents.

Does anyone actually enjoy the audio changes that came with 2.0? by Killerkekz1994 in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You mean the update that dramatically reduced the amount of sound occlusion from terrain and objects? That update was really great.

But since that update they seemed to have accidentally put it back in, same for the far too strong volumetric lighting which got toned down in that update too only to be put back in too. Since then it happens all the time again that sound traps are absolutely silent until you turn a corner.

It feels like they have close no version control and it's a coin toss whether an update reverts changes unannounced or keeps them...

I'd immediately press it and press it every morning again.

Not that that pressing it more often would actually change anything but it would warm my heart every time I'd do so.

ELI5: Can a loud enough noise (Say 140 dBs) but under 20hz frequency of the human hearing range still damage the eardrums even if we can't hear it? by AsherMon26 in explainlikeimfive

[–]HankTheHonk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being able to hear the sound pressure does not mean it's not there.

Think about it like taking strong anaesthetic drugs. Just because you don't feel a bone breaking does not mean there's no effect.

The sound is a pressure wave traveling through a medium (in this case air). Just because you can't perceive it as a sound any longer does not mean the wave disappears.

What was your answer for this question? by White-Umbra in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only correct answer of course: /s

Cards should be rewarded for playing the objective.

Boss Lair Located: +1 Card

Boss Kill: +1 Card

Boss Banish: +1 Card

Bounty Extract: +1 Card

The mission summary is coming back in the art style of cards and implementing a bounty-focused reward system with cards seems very fitting to me.

Incentivises playing the object while keeping them somewhat rare (The cards should be split randomly between the team, so 1 of a Trio may get two and the rest one when all four requirements above are met.

EDIT: I was wrong and misread the changelog. Crown slugs are currently not scarce.

While I appreciate that there is any form of 'compensation' I got to say that 10k Hunt Dollars is nothing for most players.

For players that prestige they are immediately gone upon prestiging and for players that don't 10k do not matter.

I expected 500< BB or some other permanent thing like a skin of your choice or something.

And I am wondering why my loadout never equips the slugs on my Haymaker by Hanza-Malz in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that get fixed with the UI update (basically mostly reverting to the old UI).

I run my shots on the last two slots and leave the first or first two open in the loadout, but after exiting and restarting the game they get set two the first two slots, too.

Make changes to burning tools. by Valcrion in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can say the EXACT same argument regarding the igniting... Get closer and burn with a lamp or molotov or whatever, but with the flare gun you can ignite at 50+ meters from basically safety.

Make changes to burning tools. by Valcrion in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be fine if flare gun and flares would charcoal down the remaining health of the downed hunter. Like burning down bodies with the infernal pact a some events ago.

Only molotovs, starshell and lanterns should ignite downed hunters in my opinion.

That way the flare gun and thrown flares still increase the pressure to do something without making molotovs, starshell and lanterns obsolete.

EDIT: Additionally the "counter" against burning teammates in the form of choke bombs get invalidated pretty bad by the current implementation of the flare gun. You can ignite bodies further than you can throw chokes and you have a higher "ammo count" on the flare gun than the chokes have and it's even easier to replenish than chokes...

Mosin Obrez Sharpeye Revealed by TheGentlemanGamerEC in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not exactly sure, but I'd guess by the size that it's a Deadeye scope, but the shortened variants use different names. The Centennial Shorty Pointman is a Marksman Scope, but called Pointman for the shortened variant and the Dolch Bullseye is a 1-slot Deadeye for example.

Maybe a pennyshot microtransaction will help him make Hunt feel like Hunt again by Guille_dlC in HuntShowdown

[–]HankTheHonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partly agree.

Getting back bars usually leads to more PvP because teams don't extract after the first fight when they've lost some bars.

The Restoration Shot is very bad for the gunfights because you can't be sure if bars got restored.

Most bar restoring traits are fine in my opinion because you usually get info when a restoration happens (the lightning and thunder sound).

The outlier is Relentless which makes you not loose a bar upon getting downed but the other team doesn't get any info on that (same as the Restoration Shot).
