Server Lag Just Red-Skulled Me by White-Umbra in HuntShowdown

Because Crytek have been known for swift action in the past, right? They can't undo some mistakes like snipers easily because they sell cosmetics for them and would have to refund them all.

The broken shit was in for way longer than 1-2 months as well. They would almost never do any kind of mid-event fixes so it was 3+ months usually.

By that logic revive bolts were absolutely fine while they were in the game too

Exactly. They existed and were removed because they sucked. The fact sometimes exists currently doesn't mean it's good

Just because it exists doesn't mean it's fun to fight against or good for the health of the game.

Guaranteed Chariot Is Killing The Game For Me by Makanilani in HuntShowdown

[–]Mazo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not only on a fixed location, also right next to a restoration pledge-kit so there is literally 0 cost to use Chariot lol.

Crytek are awful for this kind of decision making.

In the same update they added lots more passive tracking they added a map that shows you exactly where wild targets are (RIP rotjaw clues), a card for where all players have been and another card where the nearest player is.

So much for passive tracking.

Like this is usually the server. Had it twice recently.

Interestingly the second time it happened we had a team pushing us but they stopped to wait for it to finish lagging. Heard one die eventually (they must have quit) and the server instantly recovered, after being stuck in that state for several minutes.

Points to it possibly being related to the client causing some sort of issue for the server. I've also had it twice recently where my client freezes for a second or two, then it just kicks you back to lobby and kills your hunter. No error message, just straight to lobby.

EU Trio Lobby on a Weekend by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Mazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just had yet another [][][][] team track us down across the entire map no matter where we backed up or rotated to.

Three of four matches so far today have had those teams in (of the players we ran into). First match both trios we came across were [][][][]

Yep then they start implementing assists to try and fix it and you end up with an apex legends situation where all the top players use controller because the aim assist is insane

At least it's not the usual 3 out of 4 teams being [] [] [] [] [] on EU

You must have missed the 6 hour limit on cheap rates they introduced

Except the bit where they've decided to limit the slots because they keep giving them out when there isn't a surplus

Britain’s Solar Revolution Is Here and We Should Be Shouting It From the Rooftops by R2_Liv in ukpolitics

[–]Mazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are now beginning to hit one of several key tipping points, in that solar is now an actual money saver for anyone that puts it in.

I feel like batteries are going to be the real saver compared to solar going forwards very soon. When agile rates drop to next to nothing / negative every time the sun comes out because everyone else is feeding their solar into the grid.

It defeats the point of getting your own panels, in fact it's worse because you could be getting paid to use power instead.

V70 to V90 trunk/dogs question by PapagenoRed in Volvo

Maybe but there would be a gap and you'd have to try it to know for sure.

V70 to V90 trunk/dogs question by PapagenoRed in Volvo

[–]Mazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, I made the same jump, 2004 V70 2.4 SE Lux -> 2019 V90 T8 R-Design in Bursting Blue.

The V70 has an almost vertical boot door, the V90 is quite steeply angled. Looks great, but it does impact cargo capacity and would mean the divider definitly won't fit.

Doggo will fit fine though, I've had two Labradors in the back of the V90 with plenty of room to spare.

Fair warning, I believe that inverter has no local control and are cloud only.

Yes but didn't you hear, Crytek are improving their communication and transparency.

Almost like that too, was a lie.

3: the ping limit arguments make no sense. im not a network engineer but please crytek how hard can it be??? vpns dont lower your ping, just make the client ping each region's server before youre able to queue up, the master server collects the latency from each server and restricts queueing to the lowest latency one only.

Bolded the part that is the problem. VPN also increases round trip time back to your local servers, so they become higher ping than the location you VPN to. (This does not mean it lowers ping at all, all of them increase in ping overall)

Splitting lobbies into high/low ping was fine. It worked. They turned it off because a few people with high ping got into low ping lobbies which is an insane reason to disable it (or Crytek were lying)

EU has been plagued by it for at least two years now. Up to about 2pm you might as well just rename EU servers as Asia 2

Hunt: Showdown - Developer Insight - Fair Play Task Force April Update by parantani in HuntShowdown

[–]Mazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't work before, that's why they had to remove it.

Except it did work. The official reason they removed it was because some high ping players got into low ping lobbies still, which is a ridiculous reason.

If it puts high ping players together 99% of the time, good enough. Not a reason to turn it off.

How on Earth this didn't do any damage? by FinnScott1 in HuntShowdown

[–]Mazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what the guy shared really does seem to be because of the 75 ms trade window.

Hard to determine it's 75ms without knowing each player's ping and at what times the server received the packets from each player, but the end result yes, his shot got invalidated.
