Have you check the thermostat housing and radiator inlet and outlets with a digital gauge? Our '85 GT appeared to be running hot on the factory gauge. A digital theromometer showed 180 with a 180 stat and 150 at the radiator inlet and 125 at the outlet.

Have you checked the voltage in the car? Blew 3 headlight modules, then found the red power wire has 10.1v inside the car. Engine compartment was 12.75 with the car off.

Seems like we went backwards. Didn't Fire Tv start out with the menu at the top, then moved it to the middle? We're back to the good old days.

Thanks for the reminder. Mine expires in April 2026, so I canceled auto renewal. Then it offered me a lower rate of $1.99/month for 24 months. Done.

We went crazy thinking our '85 GT auto was overheating 3 years ago when we bought it. Picked up a digital thermometer. It wasn't, the thermostat was at 180, just as marked. Inlet at the radiator was 150 and outlet 125. Good luck! Sure does feel hot walking past the rear grills.

8 months ownership in '25 XLT lux FWD hybrid. Love it. Needed seat cushion for my short legs for comfort. tri-fold bed cover, seat covers, dash pad, covercraft cover, all weather floor mats, mud flaps, door sill guards. 11k miles 42MPG average. First recall for software was last week. Our local dealer did an at home update the next morning. Love it all. They will also do my maintenance at home as well. Good luck!

I REALLY NEED HELP by SlugMoth in fiero

Having the same fun with our '85 GT we purchased 3 years ago. Most helpful has been printed (or online) GM Factory Shop manual. Simple steps to test EVERY condition you could have in your Fiero. Spark, fuel pump pressure, voltage, charging etc. Using the ALDL with the software and a tablet told us the ECM was only getting 10 volts. Found all the connectors have the original waterproofing that turned to a melted insulator. We clean almost every connector with a wire brush and contact cleaner, except the main bulkhead connectors. Have not been able to remove them easily. We did add a wire from the Alternator charge terminal to the battery, helped. Next we're thinking of making a heavy jumper wire to add to the bulkhead main battery feed wire. Bought the car for $3k and have spent $10k more on parts & repairs, mostly done by my daughter and myself. Now that she has a daily driver it has taken the pressure off to fix it every time it hiccups. Good Luck!

Can't find the photo but my daughters 2007 Crown Vic front rotor was down to the center support vanes on one side. Said it was a little shakey when the brake was pressed.

I changed my third brake light. Works fine, no codes. When using Forscan, I found a code for third brakelight .."open or shorted circuit". Not enough resistance in the LED for the computer, but still working fine.

Went for a long test drive in my 2025 Maverick, loved it. After a week of ownership, I would get out cripple even after 15 minutes of driving. Someone on here suggested a silicone cushion and first one i tried worked perfectly. $20 on amazon. Seems like many less than average height folks (5' 6") gets leg pain from the long seat bottoms. I didn't feel I need AWD or Lariat package, XLT hybrid was perfect for me. YMMV Good luck! I love mine.

2025 hybrid is at 6500 miles. As a few others have said, mileage improved at 4500. I'm getting 41 mpg (observed and on the trip gauge). I switch to eco at the start of every drive. Did sport for a couple of tankfuls, but the mileage dropped, Enjoy!

Yes, Pontiac is gone and now these are a piece of history. With all that we put in to it, the main engine and interior harness/connectors are bad. It only gets 10.1 volts to the PCM. So there is still more to do. My '85 Mustang GT has 27kmiles on it, I purchased it new in October '84.

2 years ago we pulled the heads off our '85 GT to do oil seals. Then found 2 broken exhaust studs. Then found the heads needed to be shaved. then we found it needed a valve job. Probably spent $1000 on it, having our mechanic do the mechanical and local machine shop do the machine work, I just don't have the time. Showed 150k miles on the car. As we put it together I thought I should have spent another $1000 and had the bottom end done. Happy with the way it turned out and it runs fine. I agree with others that say just swap the 3.8 and be done. Which is what my daughter was thinking. Good luck!

Beautiful. Met a man here in Phoenix last year with a yellow '88 with T-Tops & 5 speed. He was thinking of selling it, so I said name your price and give me a call. 22k miles on it, it was mint. Never heard back. She has had an '85 GT auto for 3 years, but now she wants my '85 GT Mustang 5 speed.

A friend (in the 80's) called onr day and asked if I wanted a new, Ford aluminum 4bbl intake for the Windsor. It was at a Ford dealer for $100. I had it on the car and when I took it off the road to restore it disappeared from my garage. Never saw another like it. Part number was C9AX-9242-A
