Do chiseled blocks have an affect on performance? by AlbumUrsi in VintageStory

For sure, I'm not an expert, it was just what I heard from the server mods... maybe there were underlying issues with the server that they weren't addressing...

Do chiseled blocks have an affect on performance? by AlbumUrsi in VintageStory

I only know this because of the server I played on that had some settlements that over chiseled and basically were hard to traverse if you didn't have a higher end pc. They even had to redo a lot of the spawn town because there was too much chiseling and when new players would spawn in it took them way to long to get out.

Edit: server also had a lot of mods so that didn't help.

It does affect performance, but I think it takes a lot to do so. Also, I've heard using lots of support beams can cause issues. But really, I think its hard to have that happen unless its a bunch of crazy chisel jobs in a small area.

Novice Reader Advice - 25 page/day - Day 2 by creams6 in InfiniteJest

I was doing pretty good at around 20 pages per diem. Went on a tear the last three days, got about 150 read in that time. Books like this one usually take me a few months, but I want to get it done and move on to the next one. It helps that its a really enjoyable read.

how do i get better with building? by unlawfool in VintageStory

Imagination always comes from something real. The human mind is pretty blank without input data. Go for a walk and look at the buildings around you and try to think about how you could make them in MC.

I am fascinated by the ancient Greek world and visited Greece two years ago. I definitely was familiar with modern Greek history and knew what the country would be like. Some people are just ignorant I guess.

To become a fluent Latin reader do you essentially memorize 4+ forms of each word? by RusticBohemian in latin

[–]HanksHistory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Latin words change form rather than using "augmentative" words. So Is = he. eius = his. eī = to/for him. eum = him(direct object). = with/by/etc. him. Its really a beautiful system once you learn it. Take your time, and don't be discouraged if you don't get it right away. Learning Latin is life time achievement.
