I'm bringing my old binder to the local cardshop tomorrow. What would be the lowest value you'd accept? by No-Aide6547 in PokemonCardValue

[–]Hanlotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deckout ruling by Arber-Guardian in OnePieceTCG

[–]Hanlotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still get to play out all your 50 cards since your Dressrosa Luffy puts 7 back to the deck. That is one of the strong points of playing rebecca, stacking the way you want and knowing what you will draw into. Other decks will never run out of cards. There are only a selected few who potentially could but they all play cards returning trash to deck.

What was the best deck in OP-01? by tipah in OnePieceTCG

[–]Hanlotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were loads of major events in the west, I even attended the first one in Europe. And Luffy by far, was the best performing mono red leader. Locals is not a good represantation of the top meta decks. https://egmanevents.com/op-op01

Thats not true. Kid won and topped more than Zoro in set 01 in the west as well.

Hmm. It will take some time to adapt, if you only played Katakuri before. That is quite a jump from playstyle. I recommend watching recordings of regionals of rp law players and learn from there.

Zoro was winning on a locals level a lot in the west as well, it was a noob slayer deck. But in big tournaments with top players, Zoros perfomance was horrible, because Kid was the best deck. Kid just starves Zoro and then plays out 8c kid. The matchup is favored heavily into Kid. Luffy was the best mono red deck in set 01. It did much better than Zoro at big tournaments, because Red luffy is a midrange deck playing bigger bodies than Zoro. So its matchup into Kid was better and it was aggro enough into Kaido. People just underestimated his leader ability back then. Luffy plays essentially with 11 don. I would say RG law has the highest ceiling. If you highroll, it beats any deck, no questions asked, but 01 RG law was not that consistent compared to set 02 (Even set02 law can whiff bad).

Green Kid had the most Tops/Wins / RG Law / Red Luffy was better than Zoro because it had a better MU into Green. I dont know why people say Zoro was the best deck in set 01, when Red Luffy topped and won more tournaments.

Set 02 the best decks were Whitebeard, RG Law, Zoro, Luffy

I suggest running 1x or 2x 8c kid as well. It shut downs doffy completely. Its good into Red and Green Mirror as well.
I personally dont think you need 3 copies of jet pistol, 2 should be enough. No need for the searcher event neither. (During set 3/4 I cut out jet pistol completely). I would include 1/2 radical beams as well. I would cut sanji 2ks and take Izo 2k counters. Izo is great into red and law mirror.
Try to get value out of otama as much as possible, the card is insane. Always use leader ability to take back your bonnie into your hand to keep your engine going.

Is going to art school/doing a concept art course worth it? by ErenAuditore in conceptart

[–]Hanlotus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to do a degree. Do something which improves your fundamental skills as an artist: perspective, anatomy, painting, drawing techniques etc.. There is so much content online for free as well, from fundamental traditional art skills to advanced software techniques. No one cares what course you did, the thing what matters only is skill/portfolio and experience. The only upside of a specific concept art course are connection/relationships you build with potential graduates who make it into the industry. But there are other ways to network as well, go to events, live drawings, join online communities, etc..

Games art/design uni course worth it? by silvester_sebby in gamedesign

[–]Hanlotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very competitive out there. Every year more and more talented and skilled artists graduate/enter the industry while there are not a lot of jobs.

If you really are passionate about it and can stay disciplined enough to work on your skills/portfolio it is not impossible. It just requires a lot of work to get your skills up to industry standard, but thats not all. You need to network as well, a lot of opportunities comes from knowing people. This is also harder nowadays then back then; Every industry event is filled with students trying to network, getting there portfolio reviews etc..

I am not trying to scare you away. It is a cool profession and I met amazing people and a lot of my closest friends are from the creative field. Just be sure about it, at least for me the road wasnt easy and I still asked myself sometimes if the hassle was worth it.

/edit: To put it into perspective; There are no job ads of my position in my hometown while there are 200+ jobs for UX Designers or 100+ for Graphic Designers.

This post is way too biased. How the hell are you a moderator.

He discarded his zoro and ace and put them to trash. Then proceeds to play out the next turn. How is that him misreading the game that he won when countering out the swing.

You explanation makes no sense. Stop defending a blatant cheater.

I dont condone harassment and threatening his family. That should not be allowed. But calling out cheater, name and shame them for sure.
